How strict are you on yourself at recycling?

I don't care. Haha. If there are two trash cans right next to each other, I will place my trash in the appropriate one.

No, I do care though. I recycle as much as I can at school but not at home.

Seeing as the entire world has gone mad on global warming and recycling and finite resources...

It's just a stall for the inevitable (if the inevitable ever happens and isn't just scare-mongering).

But arguments aside, I'll do a small bit just because it's wasteful not to.

I recycle everything but bottles because I just can't be bothered to separate the cap from bottle, and then throw the plastic away in the recycling bin, and then the cap in the trash can. It's just so much unnecessary work.

I recycle bottles, cans (pop cans and soup cans), and most paper (as long as it doesn't have my name/address or something on it). :]

You have to do that? blink.gif

I try to recycle whenever I can, but I'm not really sure if I'm doing it the right way lol. I heard you have to clean cans and stuff before you recycle them?

Yes, you're not supposed to recycle bottle caps. And, yes, you have to clean the cans and get rid of the residue before you recycle it.

It's so hard to take of this Earth, I know.

Aluminum is the only thing worth recycling in mass as a citizen.
Paper, cardboard, and plastics are entirely worthless to recycle - in fact, in many cases, they're bad to recycle.

For the most part it's something that people do to feel better about themselves without ever realizing that it's all a lie and a waste. If you really cared you might have taken the time to understand that 95% of the shit we recycle doesn't help - it hurts.

Yeah, the city provided us with a recycle bin that you can throw all types of recyclable material into and put out on the curb weekly. They do all the sorting at the plant. thumbsup.gif

My town doesn't even have recycling options. You have to drive to the next town to recycle. Normally though, I just bring my paper to the recycling they do at the schools. I mailed my mayor about this problem, but he's a non-enviornmental activist sad.gif

Well, my college is a treehugging college. lol.

What could it possibly hurt? It may not be the best plan economically, but environmentally I don't see how it could possibly be better not to make the effort to recycle when the alternative is to dump everything into a landfill, which leads to various other problems.

I was thinking the same thing. It's better to at least try to recycle instead of just making things worse.
