Dude, definitely not. It's for a target market. These things are selling like hot cakes. They have a version of Linux on them that has been specifically designed to be easy to use. I hear it's incredible. I think it's perfect for kids to learn and use in school or college. It may be crap for you, but I would love to buy one for my sisters. Open Office is great.

The only reason they have a 4GB disk drive is because Solid State Drives are the fastest and most dependable drives on the market. A 4GB Solid State Drive would cost roughly $100 . Also, you can always increase the amount space by using an SD card or or using a flash drive.

To get an idea behind the pricing of an internal Solid State Drives click this link:

ASUS has been coming out with great products recently. Especially their gaming laptops.

For $400, can't complain. Especially with a built in webcam and it's pretty portable.

Oh wow, a 32GB solid state drive is $399. :O

Yes, it's old news that they exist, but they just recently went on sale (and that is new news).

You could get the OLPC, but they aren't as powerful. I guess the benefit of now that you helped that innocent child in another country is nice. Also, I didn't know that actually. I knew about OLPC(it isn't new), but I had no idea what the benefits were. ;]

i wanted those a while ago, but i was iffy about it. it was like $700-$900 back then. $400 for that is pretty decent.

Off-topic: I've never heard of this before, but when I typed it in Google, more than 10 search results came up. What the hell?

Do you have one of these? I personally prefer big screen laptops, but these look pretty cute.
