Debate away!
This is for the White for Black Club.
You don't have to be in the club to post, obviously.

Uhh yeah I guess I should have made it more clear.
Anything to do with racism. Like how it's affecting the entire society and such...
Just go with the flow. laugh.gif

i think stereotypes are more of a problem than actual racism. if that makes sense. i've met quite a few white racist people, but honestly i seem to get more racism from black people. which makes no sense. apparently since i don't dumb myself down and act like i've never been to school then i'm "not black enough". i think that's more of a problem than anything, black kids acting ignorant on purpose. and then they wonder why people think they're dumb...

annoys me

I think it's weird that a lot of people around here think that black people are all in gangs and have long, strange names.

I live in the country, and it's pretty stereotypical. Lots of white country people who don't know shit about shit. The racist people around here drive me nuts. They're mean to anyone who isn't white... and the sad thing is most of them have never been exposed to other cultures. They're living in their own little box and are afraid of the things they don't understand or know.

Traditional Asian parents are very racist against Black people. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Personally, I think that people who claim to be a victim of stereotyping need to get over themselves. Stereotyping is the ass end of racism. It's a joke. If you think about it, look at what stereotyping does. Absolutely nothing. Comics use it all the time in their routine. It's just people that make a bigger deal of something that doesn't need to be taken so seriously.

Before you say anything bad about racism...lets look at the roots first. Racism is product of many other things. Sometimes it has to do with religion, sometimes it has to do with where a person is born and raised.

I think the little eight year olds on South Park had it right. If you can't allow some one to speak their mind about some one else's race, then that in turn is racism. If a black guy can call me cracker or whitey, why can't I call him burnt toast or n****r? If anything minorities are abusing the priviledge of racism.

If you stop making such a big deal about it, it'll go away. It's like a dog...it want you to play with it, but if you ignore it, it will find something else to do.

but how do we get that point across to the rest of the world?
you know there's ATLEAST two sides to everything-it's never going to work. today's society is too messed up to even TRY to fix anything.

We could start a walk. All around the country we'll walking for crackers and n****rs. Kind of like breast cancer, but for racism. Every year, 100,000's of people will gather around the country to donate money to our cause and walk for crackers and n****rs. We can all wear shirts that are half black and half white. Is that a good idea?

There isn't much you can do. Aside from education or genocide. Racism will always exist in our life time.

Ah, I'll just vent then.

I'm very tired of what I read on the internet concerning racism towards Blacks. Racism against Asians exist too, racism against Whites exist ... An Asian acquaintance used to get bugged all the time. People tried touching her eyes, they laughed at her accent, etc. Even last friday in Dutch class, there was an Asian joke. I don't see how calling someone chintock is funny.

I was on an African site a while back and got banned because of my views. I am part White and I don't find it amusing when people call my family crackers or honkeys or slave owners or whatever.

Also, why do mixed race people ALWAYS have to choose between races? What's up with that? blink.gif

Tell you the truth, from my observation, Blacks are much more racist than other race groups I've encountered.

Oh, by the way, while watching Dr Phil, a Black woman said; I'm looking for a potential Black male. And a White lady said; I'm looking for a potential man. (OK, I might not be accurate) but notice the difference? Haha.

In my opinion honestly, stereotypes are a good things at certain times. You can definitely use it to some advantage as screwed up as it sounds.

I agree on the last two statements. But let's think of a situation.

Let's say a white guy and an asian guy come in to an interview. They both want the same position, they both have the same credentials, exact same credit scoring, same intelligence. Same almost everyone. Now they're going for a job that involves a lot of math. There's only one position available. Stereotypically, Asians are good at math. So who gets the job?

As f**ked up as it sounds, many people can use their stereoypes as advantages.

Or even in another case of a White man, and a black man, joining a basketball team. Same skills. Same height. Which one gets it? Or a case of a Desi, and a Hispanic person joining a baseball team.
