Lately, everywhere you go you'd see people going out as girlfriend and boyfriend. But what you never really get to see is people going out on a date. Did it just die out? sad.gif Do you still go on "dates" or take your crush out on a date? Honestly, in my whole lifetime I've never been on a real one. laugh.gif

what do you say classifies as a date?
i mean, i've hung out with my boyfriend alone, knowing we were interested, before we were actually in a relationship... does that count as a date?

huh.gif

I "dated" my current boyfriend for about 3 months without ever having the title. We'd go out to dinner, or get lunch, go shopping at a mall, go to the zoo, go tubing/swimming, we even went to a concert. We still go on "dates" atleast 2 or 3 times a week. See, it's not dead! _smile.gif

I went on a 'date' with my first July boyfriend and afterwards, never again.

I went on few dates with my last boyfriend. Our first meeting was a date. 'twas fun!

I hope people don't forget this concept.

I think it has a lot to do with peoples parents not allowing them to be alone with the opposite sex.

Back in the old days you could go out on dates because things like teenage pregnancies were rare. My dad never let me go on dates, but my mom and I would sneak it behind his back. Good times.

I still see people going out on dates, especially in college. I think that it's just in high school that people just take the title of "boyfriend&girlfriend" and call that "dating."

Exactly. I know people who 'date'. I'd say me and my boyfriend went out on what could be called 'dates' before we were official.

I think that "dating" is more of a colloquialism.
