I love all sorts of fantasy books, as long as they are interesting. I really need to read the LOTR trilogy. really really.
The last fantasy novel I read was a book called Elantris. Well, actually I'm in the process of reading it. But I'm really bad with finishing books. I end up starting other ones, and its just a big mess. It's really good though, and very interesting. I'm about half-way through. Also, I love the chronicles of narnia. ![]() And I've been meaning to pick up Twilight. ![]() |

^ DOOO ITTT! READ TWILIGHT!
Twilight has me kinda hooked on this Vampire thing. But I also love the Stargate shows on the Sci Fi Channel, along with Lord of the Rings. :D Love me some Legolas. The dragon stuff, though, is pushing it. A lot. |

I've never really gotten into that kind of thing. Fantasy movies are easier for me to get into than books. I just find it hard to apply to my life.

Jose, like what?
Kara, Chronicles of Narnia are grrrreat! I should pick up Twilight though and see if I like vampires. Kristina, have you read The Hobbit? There's a dragon. Or did you mean fairytale dragons? Gryffindore-Girl, I've heard of Eragon. Maybe I'll look up this one too; my friend loved it. :) Dee, I don't really watch movies or read books that apply to my life. It's more out of enjoyment than anything. If I find something that interests me for whatever reason, I'll probably read it or attempt to. |

You know what's better than reading LOTR? Reading the appendices in the back. I know!! I spent my time reading the appendices because they were so long and I really wanted to know some background info the the races and characters and families and things! I wish there were more about the wizards though.![]() I am such a sci-fi freak. Hmm. I haven't picked up a book with aliens (yet).

I'm the same. I had a massive LOTR fixation about 4 years ago - I read every book by Tolkien (including the heavy Silmarillion) and even taught myself a bit of Elvish.
Yes, how sad. I do have a much better life now. Ha! |

The language mainly, and the sheer amount of characters. There's no real sense of drama as there is in The Lord of the Rings - it's a retelling of events long past and it's rather...dull. I do English at university and this book was a real effort to read; I'd probably not chose to again!

Definitely vampires. Preferably and most likely only by Anne Rice. Her stories are very intricate, cover a lot of history, and are all over the world.
It's weird, because I feel like I know more about the vampires' lives than I do my friends or families. Ha ha |

I have a thing for vampires as well. I haven't read Twilight yet, which is weird (I've had a few people recommend it to me). I used to love Anne Rice, but sometimes she gets really tiring.
I definitely have a thing for vampires on film. (I'm a huge Buffy and Angel fan, for example). |

![]() WHOO! You wanna know how I know your gay? Lol just f**king with you..umm I never really got into all that fantasy stuff I read all the Harry Potter books and the whole Chronicles Of Narnia series but I managed to keep my head in the real world...I guess it's kinda cool to imagine sometimes though..haven't read a good fantasy book in a while, i think im gonna go get one now. As for a non-fantasy like serious book, you guys should pick up Stuck In Neutral. "The book is written in the first person from the point of view of a 14 year old boy. In the book we are taken into the mind of Shawn McDaniel who has Cerebral Palsy and is unable to communicate or interact physically or verbally with anyone. In each chapter he describes the different things that have happened to him in his life." It brings up a lot of thought provoking things like..just because someone looks like there totally brain dead, doesn't mean there still not fully aware on the inside, it's very graphic, and some parts are really disturbing, but it was written for an older audience, go get it, you won't regret it. |
