october is breast cancer awareness month. Are you aware?

Yep! At our school, they made the rolls into ribbon shapes. :/ A lot less bread.

I saw a small bowl of pink ribbons at work today. I'm going to wear one tomorrow.

Very aware. My mom finished chemo and radiation for it recently actually.

There was the run for the cure for it in Vancouver recently which my dad did, and lots of products are being made for it here too. My store just got our Christmas feature pjs which are usually some famous cartoon or something. Last year it was Happy Feet and this year its Spongebob but with a "Wear It Pink" theme with proceeds going to the cause. And apparently theres a new OPI nail polish shade for it too.

The "quad" in the middle of campus is filled with pink ribbons right now, unfortunately today it was killed by the "MARRIAGE = 1 MAN 1 WOMAN" protesters littering it up.

My grandma died of Breast Cancer t.t
They got to it too late to treat, it spread to her brain. Eh shit happens, and now I don't have any grandmas. To think, she made the best blueberry muffins I'd ever had and that was the only recipe I didn't get from her :(

Yes, my mother had a double mysectomy (or however you spell it) in 2004. She's had cancer since, but not breast cancer.

Yeah, they pass out pink ribbons at my school and make announcements and posters with statistics and things like that. Fundraising for donations is kinda common around here too during this month too.

I'm aware and I wear the little ribbons and bracelets every now and then when I remember and I wear pink ear rings XD

Skin cancer seems to run in my family more than breast cancer though...

^ I've had melanoma... but to me that doesn't count as anything but a mole. there's been lots of cancer in my family, my grandfather died of cancer. when i was younger i always thought it was unfair because he was my only grandparent. my mom says the worst thing about having cancer is when you lose your hair from treatment and how people act towards you. she hates it when people act like shes going to die.

Yea the best thing to ever do with someone that has cancer is treat them like you always have treated them.

^My mothers side of the family believes like my dad has that, which is pretty much ran down the family of his mothers side. But I would just look at it as a mole as well.

You should tell him to get get it checked out. Esspecially if it itches or bleeds. Yeah, for me... the only way I'd take it seriously is if I had liver or lung cancer. I don't know what I'd do if I had cancer. I'd probably fall on my mom for support. She's survived liver cancer. That was probably one of the hardest moments of my life because my grandfather just died from liver cancer and then my mom was diagnosed. I just wouldn't wanna go out of this world with an IV in my arm and no hair on my head, haha.

My uncle died of brain cancer, unfortunately. He was my dad's older brother. I still remember when it happened in kindergarten and wondered if he was going to Heaven.

I don't think my mom has had breast cancer, but I do remember they found suspicious lumps before, and we were all so afraid... :/ But it turned out okay.

Yea we always tell him (my dad) to get it checked out...but he got it from his mother and I got it from them. We hate doctors and we just don't think we should have to go to them because all they want is our money XD

My grandma has had this huge bump on her elbow for as long as I can remember and she will never go to a doctor about it

And the only time I've ever been to the doctor was to get a physical so I could play sports for school.
