VIP Lounge, and the staff

So, do you guys think that the mods should have to act like staff in the VIP Lounge? Or should they be able to be themselves like others are in CBC?

I personally feel that having to put on my "staff member" mask in VIP Lounge would kill the atmosphere of that place (if there is any at all laugh.gif) I like being able to spam sometimes or be a bitch. We all have those moments, and I'm not going to advocate the idea of having only CBC, which is dead most of the times anyways, to "vent" as some staff would put it.

I agree. We should all move to a yellow submarine and get to BS around like teenagers do, and the occasional young mother who doesn't pay enough attention to her son! But hey, more time for us!

But yeah, I think we should get to be OMs in VIP lounge. I mean, it's not like we have anything to do there anyways. Not to say things need to be moderated heavily. The less moderating, the better.

IMO the VIP lounge and CBC are two different things. Pretty much I have the same opinion in my other post in Suzzette's topic. Its two different things. You don't just have CBC to vent you can vent anywhere off the forums if you have too. Spaming in the VIP lounge I don't see how there could be so much of a problem with that (posts don't count..why not?) sometimes but being rude to people because you feel like acting "bitchy" is another story.

But how about being bitchy to bitches? Or rude to people guilty of assholedness?

So... we cannot bash members in the VIP Lounge, but we can in CBC in front of 10-20 users as a mod, correct?

I think everyone even staff should have some leniency in the VIP Lounge considering I mean were not supposed to be the same as we are on the outside forums. Its supposed to be a more relaxed laid back forum. And considering the others that are supposed to be in there are pretty good members I don't see why we can't be ourselves in there...o_O

I mean I would hope anyone could agree with that. Even Suzzette is laid back in there and it was her idea to make all the spammy topics for Angie

When I was a mod the first time around I use to go in CBC and I use to try having the most fun I could. I mean I don't member bash anyone ever because I wouldn't want the same returned but I mean I act just as I did around the forums.

Yes, CBC is not a createBlog forum. You are only a moderator on createBlog. Once you log off of createBlog and sign on to AIM, you have no moderator duties to uphold.

Get back on topic.

Seriously, though, I'd like to hear more from O.M.'s and not staff members. I already know most of their perspectives on this anyways, and I prefer to hear some new feedback from the people who make up and should help change cB, not the staff. ^_^

Yo, I'm about to be in the VIP in 3-4 days. And I like to voice my opinion on this matter. I think the VIP should be a freely loose place. Mods shouldnt have to monitor really, and they should act like a regular member.

VIP Lounge =/= CBC

VIP Lounge is on cB, CBC is off. Mods are mods here, not on AIM. I think mods should be like regular members while in the VIP Lounge, but not to the point where they can break the rules. Yes, VIP Lounge is more lenient, but that doesn't mean you can bash like crazy (or at least, bash like you can in CBC.)

I agree, but that can be intepreted very differently ^_^ I mean, some of us just "bash" or act mean a little bit. Others take it too far by consistently trolling ONE person in every single thread they post in. That's taking it too far, in my opinion.

IMO you don't have to act like mods, but you still need to be respectable to the members... you are supposed to be a roll model for the community and talking sh*t about others in VIP lounge is just as bad as us talking about it backstage. If you have a problem with someone IM or PM them don't do it on the boards.

Now I'm not saying you can't tell someone to STFU or "bash" the in a joking manner with them, but when it gets serious it need to be taken elsewhere.

No idea! ^_^

um, Spencer, chat is a completely different place from VIP Lounge. It's unmoderated, and you can be yourself, therefore, I think it wouldn't matter what you say, as long as you don't quote from Backstage (James told me that)

I'm sure they'd find out about it one way or the other, if they were popular enough to be disliked to an extent that people in the VIP lounge made a thread to bash them. Chances are, though, if they're that unpopular they'll have probably do some dumb stuff and get warned and not have access to it anyways.

I don't think we can throw out there and say "Moderators are only supposed to act like Moderators everywhere that pertains to createblog and its people"

That's going to end up making people seem like their being condescended too. And I mean no one wants that. We should be able to act like our fun loving selves because thats what got us our positions in the first place right?

We be ourselves and we stick the very few rules that are here, if we don't go against them then we shouldn't have to hear shit about it, simple as that.

You guys are making things more confusing then what they need to be. This is a website forum, not an actual office/work place.
