I'm not sure if this can go here, but i just wanted to let everyone know about a poster design contest here: @ don't panic.

Or to imitate their idea and have the same contest here.
This is their rules:
QUOTE
How it works
Step 1.
Create a poster based on one of the themes below. Your interpretation of the theme can be rendered using: graphic design, illustration, photography, type or any medium you can think of which we can print.
The winning poster will be printed A2 size (594x420mm) at 300 Dpi. For the purposes of voting and previewing on this website, poster entries uploaded should be:
File Format: JPG or PNG
Resolution: 72 DPI
Max Filesize: 2MB
Your poster entry will be auto-resized proportionatly by us to fit our website. If your poster is chosen as the winner, you will be contacted again to send over a high-res version of it.

Step 2.
Upload your poster to face the public vote.

Step 3.
The poster in each category with the most votes is printed and distributed in the Don't Panic pack. Make sure you upload your poster as soon as possible before the deadline, because the longer it is online the more votes it can receive.

Maybe we can have something similar to this? Without the printing though. XD

in cb or don't panic?

@ don't panic: the winner gets their poster printed and the prints are sold through the site. They split the revenue with you. Plus you get exposure. XD

The forum says " Participate in CB forum contests! Prove your worth to us." But personally, I think this is fine.
It's a great opportunity for people to get exposure. thumbsup.gif

Josh, FTW!

Edit: Ahhh yes, Alysia. pinch.gif I guess I should read the entire topic next time.
I read the first line and went to check what the forum said and then came back and posted. hahaha

Anyway, a similar contest would be great. It would probably go in the Showcase booth though, and we already have a contest going on.
But I'm sure once we got this one organized, the other one would be over or close to it.

Dude. I love this idea! I'm sure that we can definitely find some sort of way to make this happen.

It would be a combination between art & digital art, I think?

Definitely.... this is definitely a good idea. We'd need to feature the winner.... let's brainstorm on how we'd do that :)

Is that what the prize would be pretty much? Just being featured? I'd like to be a judge in this, if no one minds _smile.gif

lol We need to actually organize the contest before we start lining up judges.

Maaayyybbeeeee we could feature them on teh frontpage of createblog.com. We have the favorite tutorials and layouts and such, why not this?

I'm sure we can figure something else out for a prize. But, recognition can go a pretty long way. And helps in some departments too.

I just want to be a judge of it if it comes out xD

I guess being put on the front page would be nice...but how would you really do that without it looking awkward. I mean it changes on showcasing layouts and stuff that you provide on here, so to just have this poster would be weird in a way, in my mind anyway.

I agree with Insurmountable. Having the poster on the front page may look awkward, so I think instead we should feature the designer of the poster.

Well i suppose you could do that but how exactly? I hate to always bring out negativities as some people could see them as..but I'm just proving a point.. I can't think of a place that would look good to feature their name or something?

Moved from Contests to Designers' Cafe.

I can see this happening if it were more personalized to CB.
