wasnt sure where to put this. feel free to move if its in the wrong place.

ok. so my mom is personell manager at a walmart near us and her boss/manager whatever, wants me to make a flyer to basically stick in everyones shopping bags, because they're hiring and all that good stuff. what i needed was some brush/font ideas that are ready-to-go for commercial use, if you had any. any other suggestions are welcome too. thanks :)

edit : i am using photshop 7.0

Was is the flyer for? If it's basically just a help wanted memo, it should be more professional and minimal. If you're showcasing products on sale, use artsy brushes and designs.

Yeah, job announcements shouldn't be too flashy. Snag the Wal Mart logo and start there. Did they give you brief job descriptions or anything to go by? Do they offer benefits? Flexible schedules? Etc. You want to include stuff like that to get people interested in applying.

yeah, i was thinking that too. they gave me the jobs they were hiring for (unloaders, stockers, cashiers) and its basically, all about benfits and what a great environment and stuff. and since alot of it would be text, i wanted some graphic, or images or something to make it more eye catching, and the logo idea is good :)

i also was thinking of doing something with the smiley face.

Sounds like you've got a bit too work with then. Do you want to start out with something simple (logo and some text containing information about the jobs, employment, etc) and post it up? That way we can see what might work as far as anything else goes.

Oh and the smiley thing is great!

Great start. A couple of things right off the bat. You spelled "employees" "emplyess" (which is wrong ;))

The Wal Mart log is a tad blurry, is there anything you can do to sharpen that?

I like this, it's simple (in a good way). =)

Here are logos you might want to use, that's more clear:

that really helped
i think im going to end up using the first logo you suggested
round the edges a bit
(and spell everything right...lol)
and make everything a bit neater, and more put together.
thanks for your help!
ill post the final product on here when im done, just incase you want to look :)
and if you have any more suggestions, just pm me, or reply :D

That looks good!

What do you think about making the quote at the bottom a smaller width and justifying the text? Also, separating the name, occupations, and newspaper name into three lines? It'll look more neat.

Definitely justify the text at the bottom (as suggested). I'd also take the smaller font suggestion too. =)

Other than that, looks very nice and simple.

Question, Is the printer going to handle this stuff? Or are you just going to print it out on blue paper.

my mom took it to work and printed it out :) i was worried about how the printer would handle the gradient, but it turned out fine :D
