The first thing that came to my head was "boys go to Jupiter to get more stupider. Girls go to college to get more knowledge".

That saying is totally bogus, usually the girl who's saying it turns out to be a bitch anyway.
![]() Nah, but seriously, if a girl's gonna get mad at her friend for finding happiness with a guy, she's seriously not that great of a friend. It just shows immaturity that she let herself go to jealousy. Sad. Unless the girl actually DID something wrong, like stealing a guy she was COMMITTED to. ..I know this is a little more serious than the actual subject, but when I saw this topic it just kinda popped into my head. xD |

Sad. ok... so generally this saying is only used as a reminder that your friends should come before a guy... guys come and go, but friends are forever... at least the good ones are... a true friend would be happy that her pal is happy with a guy, as long as she's not blowing off her friends for said guy... a guy would be pissed if his bro blew him off repeatedly for some chick right? |

In my experience, most of the time when people get upset over that, it's because they're spending LESS time together, it's not that someone's getting blown off. That's to be expected, right? I mean, if suddenly a girl's got a boyfriend to hang out with, she's not gonna be able to spend as much time with her friends as she used to. In fact, she'll probably want to spend MORE time with her boyfriend. It doesn't mean she's blowing off her friends, it's just that she's got a boyfriend, simple as that.
I had a guy friend who got married not too long ago and his best friend still wants to come spend the night and stuff. It's like, are you serious? They just got MARRIED. You really think they want you to come camp out on their couch for a week? Basically, I just think people are making too much out of it. Sure, you'd be a little upset if suddenly your friend stopped having as much time for you, but the main thing is that you're still friends. Relationships take more time and work to keep together, so a friend should understand that and let the girl work things out. *shrug* Then again, maybe I'm just not as needy of a friend as a lot of people are, so that could be why I've never been on the other end. |

I think a good healthy mix is nice. Spend time with the guy AND with the girls. But some need to realize that there's a definite honeymoon phase, when the couple wants to do nothing but canoodle. Friends at that point just need to be patient and laugh it up. If a girl exclusively (or guy for that matter) hangs out with significant other and completely disregards friends, then that's when you let them now that it would be nice to hang out now and then.
Unfortunately (and fortunately, in some ways) people and relationships evolve one way or another. |
