I'm a white male American and as far as I know, I'm the root of all the world's evil because I'm a conservative and so are republicans.

I think some of the most understand people can poke fun at other races if it's all in good humor. Well, there are really three different people when it comes to racism.

Racists, the worst kind obviously. These are generally the kind who will say nigg er to a black man's face to start a fight. Predominantly white, mostly Southern, they hate anybody who is foreign and if they have an ethnic friend, they will repeatedly tell this person how much they hate his kind, even if the topic of conversation has nothing to do with race.

Affected Racists, something has happened to make these people racist. Could be anything, could be that they were robbed, attacked or someone they know was attacked, or were just brought up to believe certain untruths. These people can usually be changed.

Non-Racists, these are actually two groups in itself. The first is the "offended" non-racist which a lot of younger people or self-righteous people who think anything derogatory said about any race is extremely offensive, even when it was not directed towards them. They don't even have to be part of the conversation. The second is "normal" non-racists who can openly tell a racist joke or talk about a group of people badly who happen to mostly be the same race without getting offended. For instance, I myslef hate gangsters. I loathe gangsters, I think they're all scum and worthless pieces of shit. But some might think I'm talking about blacks. No, Im talking about gangsters, white, chinese, though most are black. Now if someone comes up to me and says they hate n****rs, I'd be offended. But if they happen to be black, I'd understand what he was talking about.

Everyone's had an experience with discrimination... whether it be race or not. As long as people have free thought they're going to not like certian things. I live in the country, I know how people can be. I'm not stereotyping, but there's lots of people around here that are assholes. I don't like it, so I let them know that I don't like it, but none of us are perfect. I'm not trying to change how they feel (because I wouldn't want them to do that to me) but I let them know to shut their faces around me and at least be honest with themselves (not be racist and then nice to their faces.)

No I don't feel you. In fact, I don't ever want to feel you. The only thing I have ever felt from you is your stupidity. I put black people on the hot seat because the majority of black people I have come into contact with have treated me like shit (not on this site though). It's a defense mechanism in your brain. At this point, my brain literally associates black people (If I don't know them of course) with "don't trust him/her, they're going to cause you grief". Mostly I just avoid them if I don't know them. Then, again, some of the most racist people I've ever met includes Asians.

One thing that pisses me off is "justified" racism. Like, in NYC, there's a lot of Chinese people. I can't tell you how much it pisses me off when a black person calls me ch**k or goes CHING CHONG GONG. I think stereotypes are understandable and unavoidable. But if the stereotypes in your mind prevent you viewing/treating a group of people as equals, than there's something seriously wrong with you.

For example, I had one african-american classmate (I'm not saying all african americans are like this...just an example people) who got sent outside the classroom and yelled "YOU'RE JUST SENDING ME OUT 'CAUSE I'M BLACK."

That's completely untrue. It depends on where you live. Maybe the people you were around went through something when they were younger, and it's affecting them now. You don't know their situation. Also, maybe they are complaining about racism because there is racism. It's everywhere.

uh, no they didn't. the pilgrims/puritans could not be considered illegal by modern terms because there were no immigration laws in north america in the 1600s. african slaves were forced to come, but still came legally. italians, irish, poles, russians, and other european immigrant groups definetely came legally, otherwise they wouldn't have come through ellis island. and my family sure didn't come illegally. hell, my parents waited for NINE YEARS just to get a visa.

and the reason that they're "just focusing on the hispanics" is because 78% of all illegal immigrants are from latin america. yes, there are other ethnic groups that make up a portion of the illegal immigrant group, but latinos are the overwhelming majority.
