It would be a waste of time though because there are many ways to do it. The original words (without editing) will always be filtered.

I tend to agree, I see it as rather a waste of time, but then I also agree with Steven in so far as it is an easy way to appease people, and doesn't really do any harm.

The words are always picked up by the filter, it is just that there are ways of 'tricking' the system.

It's not that they are sometimes allowed and sometimes not.

Oh, and in case ya'll were wondering why there are filters (was it announced somewhere? I haven't made sure. :/), it's because a few words that were filtered, such as the eff word, while other words that were equally offensive, like the 'n' word, but were still not censored. (:
