^ It doesn't hurt bad, unless they rip. They get a little sore when stretching them, I believe. But they dont hurt like ZOMG bad.

I kind of want to stretch mine to about a 4. but idk yet.

Your ears closed up? or what? If they are still pierced then you can just get a size bigger to stretch them, and then get a bit bigger, and a bit bigger, etc.
Ooooor you can do what my sister did and take a Q-tip (you'll have to stretch your ears a bit from an 18 before you do this), cut it, wrap eletrical tape around it (just a bit) and then every couple of days just wrap a bit more electrical tape around it to stretch your ears.
(I hope that made sense) btw, 10/12 isn't THAT big. That spike looks bigger than 10/12.

My friends just... did it. Bought the taper, and brought up gradually. Said it as sore, but it was a duller kind of pain, so she kind of fazed it out.

Hers are hella big though, but i don't know how it translates as a size.

Same. I was gonna say, "I have to wear earplugs in rehearsal because I stand right behind the battery and I'm one of six piccolos."

Wow, I was way off. xD

whatever method you use...
i can NOT stress enough....

put A&D ointment on the jewelry you're using to gauge up your ears.

seriously. it will help it to ease in, and keep it from getting your lymph nodes infected (which can happen easily while gauging up your ears).

You can go to any tattoo shop or piercing shop and ask questions. A lot of them really don't mind and most will even help you put them in.

its a lie it depends with what gauge you start with if he/she started with a big size of course it will hurt but if you start like you suppose to you only get this warm feeling but it fades away in a lil while.

well it depends what size you go up to,
im not going big im going up to a size 8ga or 10ga. so i
dont think ill regret it i thought bout it for a whole year.

no wonder people say it hurts so bad. cause they start with big
gauges. when you have normal earings and you want plugs you supose
to start with any from 18-14ga. and that person on your link started with 8ga OUCH.. ehhe

Start with a 14. If those feel fine, go to 12. I had mine to 2's. It's an expensive thing to do considering each set is roughly 20 bucks. I had my 2's for maybe 9 months and got sick of them. They smell like shit.

Whatever you do, do not skip. I started with 12 (bad idea) and my ears ripped! Yay.

Edit:
I'd also like to mention that my ear holes that I gauged are normal size now. They're not flippy-flappy open like a slut's va-j-j. They're tight as a virgin, kthx.

Moved to fashion.

Speak for yourself. It provides a place to have your way w/ their ears if you're little buddy is lacking in size.

any drug store. just go to the ointment section.
word to the wise - do NOT use neosporin. at all. it can trap any infection.

not side labrets. just regular old snakebites.

not too bad. just afterwards felt like i got punched in the mouth. i did them both one right after the other. not a smart thing to do. it doesn't give your body time to heal one before the other and you get more chance of migration/rejection.. i got lucky.

but trust me when i say this... your first piercing is probably gonna hurt the worst. you don't know what to expect, and you don't know the person who's going after your flesh with a hollow needle.
the more you know your piercer and are comfortable with him/her, the less apprehensive you'll be, thus the less it will feel like it hurts.

(i still, when getting piercings, ask my piercer how bad it's gonna hurt after getting 15+... and that's not including my ears)

I've had plenty of friends who have done this, just be sure of what size you want, because sometimes you can't turn back. It's possible, I had a friend who went back to do an 18, but it took the same patience as stretching it.

Be sure of what you're doing, it's probably cheaper to do it yourself, but information is always free so I'd suggest stopping by a peircing place and asking questions. Their answers will probably be more personal to what you find online.

Change them about every 2 weeks depending on how sore they are. 2 is good 'cause your ear lobes are still visible, but there's a noticeable hole. I cannot guarantee yours will be normal; depends on the elasticity / stretchiness of your ears.
I probably had gauged years for a total of 1.5 years. *shrug. Got sick of 'em.
They ripped b/c I started with a 12; I had to let them heal up... but then I stuck in the 12's again, and it was painful but alright :)
Just be careful and clean them lots.

Lobe Stretching FAQ

That's the site I learned from when I first started to stretch.

My lobes were a standard 18g, and my first stretch I used 8g tapers. >.>;
I also stretched my cartilage, which I also started at an 8g stretch.

Nothing ripped, no blowouts. Took me a whole year to stretch my lobes and cartilage.

My lobes are currently at 12mm, and my cartilage is at a 0g.
:)

Start with a small one. Then you buy bigger & bigger ones until you get to the size you want. Take out each one when it stops hurting before you go to the next one. & plugs shrink really quickly, so you have to keep them in most of the time.

its called ear stretching.
you can use tapers.. but you should only stretch up ONE..... ONE size at a time. and youre technically supposed to wait 6 weeks. but a month is good.
2 weeks minimum
let your ears heal
if they bleed, you ripped your ears.. and thats bad. you need to let them heal completely before you strech them again
and dont mess with it alot after you do it...
find plugs that are made of a material your ears can handle.
some ears are sensitive so certain materials.
silicon is bad for freshly stretched ears. so is acryllic.
and also when putting the taper in... using ky jelly really helps them slide.

jus so you know - it kinda gets addicting

haha and i seem like a mom wen it comes to this, sorry
i jus have had my ears stretched for a good 4 years.. and i hate seein people do it wrong
currently at a 1/2" and have been for forever. im stopped for right now though. my mom asked me to. lol

and if you wanna know more or the CORRECT way to stretch, feel free to message me

The best way for me, I bought this like tapering ring from a ghetto piercing store.
And it starts off as a 12 at one end and ends at a 0.
So, basically it looks f**king huge, and like 3/4 of a circle.

Use it when you're on break or something, because the thing's ridiculous. It took me about 2 weeks to get from a 10 to a 0 and I inched it up little by little each day, because I'm a pussy and I make sure I'm doing it safely.
However, if you're not using those professional tapering rings, leave AMPLE amount of healing time. That's the best way.
Oh, and before you try to fit plugs in, make sure you leave the taper-kinds in for a while. And never buy flares if you're just starting, hurts like a bitch and your ears will have a bigger risk of tearing.

NEOSPORIN, FTW. That helped with everything, and my ears have never smelled. C:
