QUOTE
Most of you guys haven't noticed already, the girl's locker room is pretty dang crowded. Staff has decided that its time to clean out the locker rooms, so you can bet that the boy's locker room is going through the same summer clean up.

Any topics made before the year 2006 will be deleted (except the pinned topics, of course.)

Okay so they should be deleted, not closed right?

Because seeing a billion x's in the girls locker room is a eye sore and makes me not want to go back in there pinch.gif

Or well is Michelle just closing them so she can remake the topics or something or is she going to leave em there? Because her just closing them and saying its being closed for clean up time is just giving her free posts..

I don't know where that quote came from, but I doubt that she's going to go close a bunch of topics and remake them, hah. There's been an issue lately of people bumping really old topics that don't really need to be bumped. I think that there's a contemplation whether to close them or get rid of them.

I'll make them invisible. Sorry; I wasn't sure if I was supposed to or not.

And I really don't care about my post count. You can ask Jusun to subtract each topic I closed if it really bothers you.

Don't worry; I do not plan on deleting them ^_^"

If anyone ever needs a topic for quotes or something, please PM me and I'll make it visible again. But just be sure to have the link or the specific title to make it easier to search for >_>

Then whats the point of this clean up?

I don't get it >_> also if its invisible and we don't know what topic it came out exactly honestly its just going to become a big problem of trying to find that one post...

http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=182280
those topics? why not just delete them? o_O

We just felt that a lot of the topics were too old and overused. It was time for more fresh topics.

There is a clutter of old polls in the locker rooms, in case you haven't noticed.

We are not in any way saying that you cannot repeat a closed topic, but this way, there will be newer threads to respond to, and it will hopefully lead to an increase in activity in the locker-rooms.

Honestly, I don't think many people memorize posts from old threads... If anyone really does need a quote or a post, then I will go through the trouble or the "big problem" to search for it.

Honestly i don't really care.. I can see where elba is coming from by its the history so to speak.

I don't think there is anything wrong with cleaning up, it's too clutter for me.

I agree with keeping the topics on the site somewhere as history of cB, but we just felt that because the same topics were being responded to over and over again, it would be better to be able to start off with a clean slate. That way, older members could respond with their new experiences or whatever and not avoid going into the locker-rooms.

I will just make them invisible so that no one has to see the huge list of x's. ^_^"

if they're invisible (michelle) you will see next to the forum you will see a few numbers, if they are invisible, it will be very hard for you to see if anyone is on mod preview.

We don't want to delete anything because for some reason the depository for deleted posts/topics is going wonky and nothing's going there...so once we delete them, we can't get them back. However, once that is fixed up, it would be perfectly fine to delete them.

yeah lets delete a bunch more pages from the site and lose another couple of hundred page hits, and that way we can really make sure jusun doesnt break even this year.

I didn't even think about that

No I think what she was saying is that when people search for a problem or issue, it's much more likely to bring them to cB if the topics are still in existence so that they turn up in the search results. That brings them to the site and the more hits on the site, the more Jusun gets.

I don't know. I think it would be more likely to pick the thread up if it weren't deleted though

Not. Or make a "Archives" forum and move all the older threads in there.

hi guys,

i dont know who came up with this but this is a very very bad idea. theres no reason why old topics cant exist along side new ones. the forums should be like every day convos you have with your friends. the same topics get revisted again and again. that doesnt mean that there isnt anything to add to them, nor does it mean that old topics should be discarded. some people enjoy reminiscing the olden cb days.

its a good idea to start new topics of the same subjects if the old one hasnt been active for a month or so. this will give new members an opportunity to express themsevles without having to read 234234234 posts. but at the same time, there is no reason for the old one to be discarded...

'Twas my idea, and I will take the blame. I just hoped to create more activity >_>

We can just post up a reminder / suggestion to everyone that they should feel free to create similar topics to those that are quite old or more than a set no. Of pages.

Sorry for any problems this may have caused!

Oh, and tripvertigo- I have no idea how the "business" part of cB runs. *shrug
