I have been trying to download GIMP and to make it work on my comp, but every time I click on my desktop icon of GIMP 2, it doesn't work. It always seems to stop at "Fonts". I looked at the FAQ at their website, and I was totally confused. Also, I have been looking through post on this website to find answers, but I have not found what I was looking for. So I surrender. sad.gif Can someone please help me with GIMP??? It will be appreciated.

Delete the program. Completely.

Then reinstall.

See, that's what I don't know, unfortunately. And on website for GIMP it doesn't even tell you how to find out if you do have it. Makes me sad.

did you go to add/remove programs and uninstall it, and then search your computer for any of its files and delete them. Also, did you delete the program files?

Yep. I did that. :( But I did notice something while I am trying to set this crappy program up:

"The Setup detected that you CPU has Hyper Threading enabled...."

Eh. All I wanted was to make rounded corners on a couple of pics and I have to go through all of this... cry.gif

Invest in Paintshop pro, it doesen't cost as much a photoshop and if you know what you doing it's just as good.

Yeah, I think I am going to do that, since it is an unnecessary headache.

Yes it's an good program, go look at my work, you see what it can do and it's easier to find good brushes for paintshop pro than gimp.

i'd invest in paintshop pro, first of all.
then save and get photoshop.

as for me, i had a free trial of photoshop cs2 when it first came out, used it for about 2 weeks, then won it at a family-owned computer store near me.
so i got it for free. lucky me. rolleyes.gif

I got a free, cracked Paintshop Pro 7 from my dad. Haha.

I would get Photoshop first, or at least get a Paintshop Pro trial. If you buy Paintshop Pro and then get Photoshop, you'll be replacing the Paintshop pro. You would be spending more money by getting the two than just getting a trial and then Photoshop; unless, you are going to use both.

I think I got confused about what I just said. mellow.gif

DO NOT QUIT.
The first time, and every time you install new fonts
the GIMP really just slows down. Having
a slow computer with little RAM doesnt help either.

Anyways, some people dont really like the GIMP but
check out my layout(div) submissions and my website(gigalays)
I make everything off of the GIMP. Other
people have said they could have sworn I
had photoshop, but I dont. _smile.gif
