a question to all the members

Why are the staff members so superior to us? Let's start off with a story.

Four members from the community are spamming and member bashing. Only two are warned. Why? Because the other two are moderators.

Is this fair?

Four members from the community are demoted. After one week, two are promoted again. The other two have to wait at least another week. Why? Because the first two are moderators.

How do you, the members, feel about this? Is this fair?

Please don't move or close this. This is a question for the community. Not feedback. I want their opinion.

No, it's not. They should've been demoted because they were warned.

For the second question, I do think it's fair. Why? Because imo, there is a much bigger difference between Official Member and Staff and Official Member and Member.

well maybe one reason being they are higher status than us.?
but where does the equality kick in? I don't know it seems that equality has been an issue here a lot lately. but I can care less I aint so commited to this forum as I was back then, but the way things are ran here are always questionable. you may also question what's so good about being on staff other than more previllages and other stuff etc. Some people get the idea that people on staff get better treatment, it's all opinion, but as fairness goes its always questionable if fairness does exist in this forum I'm not saying it doesn't but I guess only certain members are treated differently due to personal arguements or some other shit.

nope, because if you were and you were warned, you would have gotten the same punishment as everyone involved, but since you're on staff, it ain't happenin'.

Is that a general "you" to all mods or a "you" to just me, Kaycee?

If it's the latter, what would I be warned for?

Edit;; ohhhh nvm, you said "you guys", so it's the former.

Maybe if the staff are created equal, like if 4 mods were demotted, and only 2 were warned for their behavior, then the other 2 should to. Just to be fair.

One question, why are you backlashing at Kaycee and Suzzette when they both said they agree with you about the warning thing?

I'm not trying to start anything, but like...they both said yes. huh.gif I just don't understand why there would be a need to argue with that when they agree...with you.

Absolutely not. The moderators should have gotten a harsher punishment, if anything, because they are moderators.

I don't even know HOW people get promoted on this thing. I don't even know what I AM. But all I have to say is I probably get along with very few people because of how they act superior, Staff, Official, Member or not. It's an online thing with online assholes.

You get promoted to Official Member if you post in the thread and meet the requirements...there's no "politics" in that at all; it's impossible for there to be.

CONGRATULATIONS MIKE, you have won the Nobel Peace Prize this week.

But I agree with you, I could care less.

Sometimes things are biased. I've seen members be biased against the staff a lot lately. I can't say that I've seen even scales with the staff being as biased with members as the members have with the staff. I'm not saying that the staff is perfect.

One thing that people need to keep in mind is that most of the time the mods don't get warnings like regular members. If a mod is bashing members they'll probably be demodded (for however long)... the verbal warning and warnings will be skipped.

karmakiller, am i right in assuming that you think the punishment of being demodded for only a week is fair while we as regular members still have a warning level from it?

Just nudging in, not arguing or anything, but just asking: What does a warning do to you exactly? What can you not do because you have the warning? Or is the point just that it's there?

Well, I haven't been around very long, but no it's not fair. I suppose there's always going to be preferential treatment towards some members due to popularity or status or how long they've had that status. Things will always be biased in some way. Honestly, I'm too new to care, but I'm guessing this issue will start to bug me once I've been around longer. For now, it makes no difference to me.

I think it depends on what happened; sometimes mods are given the opportunity to come back and sometimes they aren't.

back to the MEMBER discussion.

Maybe part of the reason the staff act as though they are seperate from you is because you repeatedly tell us that we aren't members, or part of the community? Oh, isn't THAT a novel idea? Shared responsibility. Some times I marvel at the complexity of it all.

Apart from anything else (I agree in principle that equal punishment is the way forward), it was a lot easier to establish the punishment for you and Elba, because there was precedent and procedure to follow. With Robbi and Diana, it was a newer, and greyer area. Perhaps the outcome wasn't ideal. Suck it up, and maybe if you stop being so belligerent, people will be more inclined to take you seriously, because what you're saying actually makes sense. And if it wasn't a constant battle to actually keep you anywhere near civil, people could actually focus on your point, rather than your obnoxious attitude.

Just. A. Tip.

Oh, and by the way, I think I should point out to you that you have collected abother warning for a similar offence SINCE the incident to which you are referring, which slightly undermines the validity of your argument about being hard done by and abused.

But you know, if that is inconvenient to acknowledge, or is utterly meaningless because it comes from someone who doesn't share your point of view isn't a member of createBlog, then please do forgive me.
