are you still a real layout maker if you don't make your own codes to hide stuff? like, if you make the actual layout, but maybe you want to hide a lot of stuff and bring up your about me, are you still a layout maker? for instance, i made a default layout, but i had to get a code to get small navigation bar and hide everything. does that make me not a real layout maker? because i don't make my own hiding codes. or bringing up the about me codes or small navigation bar codes.

I use hiding codes sometimes as well, Its just easier to come here and find it than to code it yourself.

So, yes. I think so.

Sure you are. It's just HTML. No one has ownership over codes (unless it's their graphics).

The way you design the layout and make it appear is what makes you a designer.

There are no checklists that you have to satisfy to call yourself a designer/layout maker.
Did you use HTML or CSS or whatever codes to customize your page?
If you did, then you're a designer.

Of course; I still have to get scripts from other people/sites because I can't remember how to code everything right off the top of my head.

Hah, I use people's hiding scripts from here, but I credit the people who uploaded them.

I mean, I'm sure if I put a lot of effort into it, I would be able to figure out how to hide some things by myself, but I don't really see why I need to. I code everything else, and I know what the majority of the hide codes represent, so that's good enough. I definitely consider myself a "real layout maker."

Even people who jock codes and edit them to their liking could be considered to be "real layout makers," because they obviously know what they're editing and what effects it will have on the appearance of the layout. (I'm not saying that makes jocking ok though)

Just like Frankie(ventriloquist) said...We didnt make/invent HTML and everyone uses the same or similar code when coding myspace. Atleast your designs are original.

^He's right. You're still a designer, because you know how to design your own layout. Mostly everyone uses a website for the codes to hide stuff on myspace, and that's completely normal.

are you saying you may not be one if say you take a script off createblog to make your layout look better?

thats not true.. you're just trying to make your layout look creative + unique, which a layout maker does
