so i heard somewhere that Buddhism is not not really a religion but more of a lifestyle is that true?

Kind of going with what Michelle said but a lot of religions are considered lifestyles, no?

The only "religion" I would consider not really a religion is Confucianism because there isn't a deity or someone to worship and follow. It's more of a philosophy.
But Buddhism does indeed follow someone; Buddha. Yeah? |

^generally, but not necessarily because there are different branches. When I was a Buddhist, I simply followed the philosophy. There is no strict laws on how one worships/follows Buddhism (so long as you are faithful to the base rules and with the exception that you're not a monk).

Yes, I'm considered a "Buddhist" and there aren't really any strict rules ( Like what Spirited Away said) Its just "the way of life" ( to respect others blah blah)

I'm Buddhist and it is more like a lifestyle because there are no Gods in the religion merely a role model which is Buddha. Buddhism is basically the thought that life is suffering and to eliminate suffering, you eliminate desires and all of that. Buddhists don't really pray, they meditate.
