Yeah, I need a better paying job. I get paid $8.00 working at Allstate. $10 under the table at Prudential. I was making $7.75 at Hollister before I quit.
At least it's better than the days I was making $6.75 at Arby's. Oh, and I live in California where the minimum wage is currently at $7.50; it will be at $8.00 by '08. |

$5.40/hour.
wonderful, i know. with next to no tips too. i know someone who gets paid $2.50/hour, but he gets madlyyy tipped. i really should just go back to teaching; i got from $20/hour for music, academics, and kungfu. except i ran into the issue of not finding any people to teach after about a year... |

Not enough. Haha, $8.25 in retail (La Senza). I've done webdesign/dvd work for $10-15 though. But that doesn't come around too often.

i used to get $10 an hour, cash, under the table + free food. haha it was awesome.
now i get $15, but it's taxed...does that calculate into $12 an hour nontaxed? i really have no idea. |

^Assuming you're young and not racking in tons of money, it should come out to about 12.5$/hr, depending on how much you're taxed. I make 8$/hr and get a lot of hours in so I get decent pay and I get taxed about 16% of my income.

MINIMUM wage, see this thing really needs to increase, I've been working there for almost 2 years, and no raise AT ALL. $7.50.

$4.50 an hour is the starting pay for a hostess where I work, and I also get tips... so, some nights i might bring home as much as $40.

$11. UPS *sighs* I need another new job instead of lifting boxes all day. At least they pay for my schooling. Oh yeah, I quit my other job because it killed my sleep indefinitely. 3rd shift sucks ass.

Holy Crap.
Stop complaining about minimum wage. Its under 6 dollars in Texas. Im hoping to lifeguard next summer, its pretty easy because no one comes to our pool. :] Maybe being a waitress, if I have time. |

about $19.50 an hour, i guess i could say.
but i'm on salary/exempt so its $39k a year. I should be making more in 3 months when im supposed to get a raise. If it's under $41k ($20.50/hr), im joining my friend rick's firm, where he'll pay me about that much. and then if we're talking freelance/contract work i charge $100 an hour, with a $200 minimum, in increments of 30 minutes. and yet... somehow... im still broke. |
