Well, as long as it isn't like overly crazy like on her entire back, it's ok. _smile.gif Crossbones sounds awesome!

And no, if I really wanted it, I wouldn't change my mind

No, I dont think it looks slutty unless you see a girl with a tramp spamp (lower back). But it also depends where you put a tattoo under the bikini line. I want two medium sized stars one on my left hipbone, and one on the right. I also have though about getting a small heart on my ancle (which looks cool) because I had carved a heart there when I was bored lol. Crossbones also, sound awesome.Well if its some total preppy cheerleader type and who no one could picture getting a tattoo, yea, I would think twice about her.

Why would you not tell your parents? That sounds pretty stupid. Just wait till your 18 when you actually have the ability without it being illegal.

i personally don't want a tattoo, but i'd say if you'd want one, you should have parents approval.

from what i understand (and correct me if I'm wrong) you need parents permission if your under 18, depending on where you go. You need to be careful if you do find a place. Make sure its clean because you could get infected with dirty needles and what not sad.gif

a couple things you should keep in mind though,
your going to have this for the rest of your life, unless you get laser surgery or whatever it is to get it removed biggrin.gif
try to do something you know you'll like for the rest of your life,
like you know, you wouldn't get your boyfriends name stamped on your body if you've only been together for a week tongue.gif

i don't think it looks trashy as long as its tiny,

I think a trashy tattoo is a tattoo that you didn't think alot about. If your getting something stupid like a star, or your name on your ankle or something, thats just redneck girl.

If you get a skull that doesn't mean anything but hey I have a skull, thats just trashy goth punk.

A tattoo is art, your skin is the canvas. Don't waste your skin.

Tattoos in general aren't slutty. Butt tattoos are nasty though. Anyway, I'm getting one next month! I'm scared. Pierced and tattooed = sex.

I think they can be sexy. I've seen lots of women with tattoos all over and sometimes they can be a bit intimidating, lol. I think as long as it isn't something cheesey you can totally rock 'em. I want some. The only thing that I stress, is be careful where you get them, esspecially if you're young, because in the future you don't want to have a job where you can't have them. You can always remove piercings, but not tattoos. Most tattoos can be easy to cover, though, besides getting one on your wrist (which is where I want one).

Okay, I'm done sounding like someone's mother, haha.

I don't think tattoos are slutty... I want one, but after I decide on an image that I like, that also means something. Because, you'll be living with it for the rest of your life.
My friend suggested that you should take a picture of what you want of your tattoo and keep it in your room for a couple of months, and if you're still not tired of it, then it would work for you.
But the legal age to get a tattoo without parental permission is 18. If the place inks you underage, it's illegal, and the place isn't trustworthy, regardless if your friends all got their tattoos there.

But yeah, I only think they're trashy when they're not thought out. Make sure you're more than 100% positive about what you're getting because its something that lasts your lifetime.

i dont think you should get a tattoo yet.. cuz isnt it illegal NO MATTER WHAT [even with parents] to get a tattoo under the age of 18? (In US only?)
And if they're willing to bend the rules for you [even without parent's permission], then it might mean they're willing to bend other rules such as health-related issues concerning tattoos and whatnot. Just a suggestion. I think it's trashy depending on where, but if it's not visible, then I wouldn't really know it's there.. shrug.gif Like your ass or something. I think that's a bit trashy. But I won't be able to see it so I wouldn't know. lol.

As long as you have a parent's consent, age doesn't mean anything. I remember a long time ago there was some Soap Oprah about a lil 5 year old who had a tattoo and it was the father's idea. And the mother was debating to get it removed and leave the father or leave it and not leave the father lol

Tattoos on girls? No, just no.

NO!

It's not professional. People WILL judge you if you have a tattoo.

If you want to get one so badly, then get one where it's not visible when you're wearing clothes.

Trashy. Ick.

Nevermind the fact that most people get tattooed when they're teenaged (can't quite see old people picking the snake-entwined-around-a-dagger-design on a Saturday afternoon scenario) and therefore a little less worldly-wise; but know that that hormonal-induced decision is going to stick with you forever.

Old people with tattoos look sad. And gross.

Most people with tatoos have poor self-esteem. Aren't tattoos defacing a perfect body? (Mini, back me up on the psychology here!)

It's just so unlady-like.

But then there's your cliched counter-argument of 'It shows originality and self-expression.' So does cutting your own hair, The Turner Prize and becoming emo.

^I DEFINITELY will have to agree with Sarah on this one.

Seriously, it's a poor decision that will still remain permanent even if you have a change of opinion.

Even with laser treatments, you still have traces of the tattoo remain on your skin.

Take Angelina Joely for example. ermm.gif

HAHA! Unfortunately, I don't know about this matter at all. Fooey! _dry.gif

Yeah, there are so many ways of showing originality BESIDES getting a tattoo. The way you type, the way you speak, the way you carry yourself, not everything has to be physical.

And the emo route is so last year, ugh. I don't like the emo trend at all even though some emo guys can be very attractive.

But then again, they could be SOO much more attractive if they weren't emo. mad.gif

I think that's a seperate observation.

Edit/

Beaten to it!

And to SKTH - think carefully why you want that tattoo. I hope it's nothing to do with a band or an image? I've had my share of temptations; from a Green Day tattoo, to an MCR tattoo, to a Final Fantasy tattoo.

Tell yourself you will get this tattoo in two years time. If you feel the same passion for it then, then chances are you can live with it for the rest of your life.

Well, I just hope you don't regret it in the future.

And just curious, but where are you actually getting your tattoo?

Hopefully, it's not somewhere visible (i.e. arm, leg, shoulder, or FOREHEAD)

im a girl and i got my first tattoo for my 14th b-day. my mom took me to get it done. she was all fine and good with me getting it because i got straight A's, but it did change my rep. with the kids at school. everyone thought different of me, and those certain "people" at school that u never want 2 talk 2 actually talk 2 u, and its kinda weird...but on the bright side it was a major convo. starter and i actually made new friends! so you should totally go for it, but you should prolly talk 2 ur parents about it first ^-^

p.s. dont worry about pain. the only time it hurts is when they do the outline, and that barley hurts. when they fill it in, it actually numbs out and kinda feels good. i was really scared when i got it because it was afraid that it was going 2 hurt but now that i know how it feels im actually thinking about getting 1 on my lower back!

i know it may seem slutty but i want my tattoo below the bikini line. onmy right side. i want to get it there cause its a place that people cant see and they wont call me names .. but wtf do i care if they do.. anyway i want it for myself to see no one else.. i want crossbones.. my sister draws really cute ones and i want it! anyway.. what do you think?

are tattoos trashy on girls.. ?

and if you knew someone that was really nice and had no idea they would ever get a tattoo. told you after you had your mind set on what type of girl she was would you change your mind?

WAIT UNTIL YOU ARE 18.

The best advice I've ever gotten is to think about what tattoo you want and to wait A WHOLE YEAR. If you really want it EVERY SINGLE DAY and you still want it by the time a year passes by, it will most likely be a tat you will not regret.

I think tattoos look pretty lame in that bikini area. My friend had one done when she was 16, and she ended up trying to scratch it off herself with her NAILS. Do not end up like her.

A good alternative: go to a tanning booth and get one of those "tan tattoos." Those last long, but are still temporary.

I, myself, know what ink I want, but I am still waiting another 5 months before my first one (when I turn 18) and more for the other ones I plan on getting. (I am going to get a small tat behind my ear first.)

Lol how'd you know? Yea, the lead singer from Tokio Hotel has it (the band in my signature) and hes so hot. Although, I always wanted a star somewhere on my lower stomach and the one he has looks really cool. Yeah, I would have to wait a few years until I got it anyway. No way would my mom let me get it there.

True... that happened with me. Back in my senior year I was gonna get a tat my friend drew up for me (nice gothic/alien-like cross). After highschool I just decided to leave my body as it is.

If I ever get a tattoo it'll be about something I love. Like if I ever make it as a great photographer, or the names of my kids worked into a piece of art. Something special.

It depends on how big and what the tattoo is. I always thought a small tattoo wasn't too out of line. But if they have a whole dragon on their back then yeah...thats something else.

If you want to get one, do it. If you don't like them, don't get one. Simple as that. Why go around preaching it's wrong when so many people like it?

Lol how'd you know? Yea, the lead singer from Tokio Hotel has it (the band in my signature) and hes so hot. Although, I always wanted a star somewhere on my lower stomach and the one he has looks really cool. Yeah, I would have to wait a few years until I got it anyway. No way would my mom let me get it there.

When you have kids, that star won't look as pretty.

Haha, dang Michelle? Tryna scratch it off with her nails?
I always thought it'd be awkward having to sit there and get a tattoo in a weird place..

I know; it was disgusting. Now her star is f**ked up and she hasn't gotten the surgery to remove it yet. Ew.

True, but at least I can tell them that it was my choice to get it instead of being pressured into getting it.

i have a tat on my lower back of a playboy bunny and on my hip for 4 stars. honestly... if you want em go for em... but think before u get it done. i love mine. i have nothing to regret about them either. theres nothing wrong w/tattoos at all. it dont mean u have a low self-esteem its just what you prefer.

it depends.

i think that there are a few girls out there that can pull off a tattoo and it look cute.

but most of the time "tramp stamp" is right!

I agree with many people on here,
as long as you get it where it isn't visible with your clothes on,
i think its fine
i say wait though like Michelle,
it's a big decision and it's permanent.
^ that can't be said enough.

i think tats make gurls look trashy...it isnt ladylike at all to me. i find it very unlikely that a young women would get a tat to be more lady like, its more about rebellion to me.

^I think small tattoos look trashy, but the more tattoos you have the less trashy it looks. As long as you don't have any on your face.

I got my first tattoo when I was 15. A friend of mine did it with a homemade gun. It didn't turn out really well, but I got it covered up at a tattoo shop and it looks great, now.

or perhaps it's a reminder of something important that someone would want to remember...

it's body art, that's all.

I think tatoos look okay on most people as long as they don't over-do it. :]

I'm planning on getting a tatoo once I'm a little older and have a secure job.I want stars tatooed around my right eye. :D

I got a tattoo on my wrist a few months ago, and I love it. Plus it's easy to cover it up with a watch, which I have to wear in my current career. I thought it through for so many years, and it has a lot of meaning to me. I would suggest doing the same for anyone else who wants a tattoo. I agree with some of the previous posters that say to wait a year before following through with it, because by then you may not consider it the greatest idea anymore.
