I've never had one, but it seems fun though. I wouldn't mind having one.

When I was younger, in elementary school and stuff. To me, it was just like having a class assignment... except someone else was reading your "essay". In 4th grade we did this thing where, as a class we'd write to another school and drop them clues as to what school we were and they'd do the same. Yeah, it was kinda lame.

Pen pals are GREAT!!! It's even better when you get to meet them after writing to each other. My first pen pal was in 5th grade and I got to meet her when I went to Ghana in 7th grade. happy.gif

Briefly, when I was in the first grade. It never caught on though, we just sent a few letters to each other. The girl was a foreign exchange student from Brazil and we started writing each other (or at least intended to) when she went back home.

I've never really had a penpal. I would like to have one though. I would want one from another country if I got one though.

I think it would be interesting!

I had one in 6th grade for my french class, but only for one letter. After that we emailed each other instead thumbsup.gif . I also had a pen pal from New Zealand who was my dad's coworker's daughter. She was nice, but now we've lost contact. I wouldn't mind having a pen pal again.

I had a penpal in middle school. We met at a BETA club convention in South Carolina. It was pretty fun actually but we lost touch. It is very interesting learning about someone else's life. Or at least it is for me...might be because I am nosy! lol
