Hmmm... I suppose I would feel it sometimes, like if I were a third wheel, but not all the time. There's so much to do when you're 16, no need for loneliness. Being single can be a blessing.

Being single is fine. You can have plenty of fun, plus, a lot of times relationships when you're young can cause drama and to me it's a lot more fun being able to flirt around with my guy friends and not have to be careful of what I say because of what my s/o might think. You're young, go have some fun.

it kind of depends on the situation.
i mean, i'll be 18 next week, but have never had a boyfriend...and it hasn't killed me yet, haha. anyway, there are two sides. i agree with what MyMichelle said about being single being a blessing though, because you never have to worry about letting your boyfriend where you're going and such...you can just...do as you please, haha. plus, i've seen some of my friends go through some horrible drama involving boys, and it's nice to be able to not have that happen to you. on the other hand, yes, it can be kind of lonely, especially when, as she said, you feel like a third wheel, or when a lot of your friends have boyfriends or girlfriends. (i know that Valentine's Day definitely sucks for me, especially since my brother was telling me about his makeout sessions shortly before V-Day this year (he's in elementary school even...::gags::) anyway. it just depends on the situation. there isn't anything too too horrible about it, though. :shrugs: |

I would feel lonely half the time.
I'm 15, almost 16, and have never had a serious boyfriend. But I'm not spending my time trying to mold myself into what is perceived as "eligible" in my school's social circles. I don't go around looking for guys good enough to like, either. I do feel lonely sometimes when I look at my friends having that special person to look forward to every day. But that's endurable. |

I'm 16 and don't have a boyfriend, and i'm not lonely! I'm fine with being single, enjoying the time of my life with my friends. Don't feel pressured or think that you should be getting a boyfriend now because everyone else has one, it'll come.

when i was 16 i already had a bf. but if i didnt have one, i dont think id be lonely at all. there was so much stuff to do at school, clubs and etc. and i also worked at a fun job and i have my friends to keep my company. :)

Mine is because I can't find any guy that I can see myself having a relationship with. At my high school, I know pretty much every guy in my grade, and I wouldn't date any of them.
I still have to get to know the upperclassmen, though. That, and the fact that my mother wouldn't let me. She said she'll let me date once I graduate from college and have my own job and place. So basically, she'll late me date when I'm 25 [which is the age my mother was when she got married.] I have this theory that if I really like a guy, and the guy really likes me back, then he'll personally call my mom and ask for permission to date me. Not so much a theory as it is a fantasy.

aww same here ! my mother is overprotective like yours. but im guessing she would think that i would slack off. but i dont think i would. actually, i think i would do better since i would finish my homework faster so i could talk longer on the phone with him. anywho, on the boyfriend thing its okay i havent had a serious, serious boyfriend yet and im happy. i like being single, it make me feel free

That's the same reason my mom gives me. She thinks that I won't be able to handle a boyfriend with my grades and my extracurricular activities.
I don't think it'll be a problem. If the guy is a good guy, then he'd understand, and he'd probably be equally busy so it'd be balanced. But whatever. My mom was weird as a teenager, and I guess she wants me to be like her, too.

I'ma be honest:
Being single is fine as long as your being chased the entire time. It's no fun if nobody wants you, because being single is being on the market, and if the market is doing badly, then so is your self esteem. Lets face it, kissing is always more fun with someone else.

I'm almost 18, and I've still never had a boyfriend. I've had a homecoming date and been on one other date, but nothing ever ended up happening. Dont worry, 16 is still pretty young.

anyway, i'm 16 and i've had one serious serious relationship that lasted a while. i've had lonely times since, but i guess you could say it's nicer because you're able to flirt around. you're not tied down to someone, and you're free to go out with guys and get to know them better without being accused of cheating (not that i was ever accused of cheating :P). it's not a bad thing

I dont have too much of a problem being single usually... it's not so much that I get lonely when I'm single so much as it is I like sex and I dont get it as much when I'm single. haha.
but when I'm a third wheel, that sorta bothers me... but all the girls I'd want to be with have boyfriends so... yeah. haha. |
