Common ones:
Fire Crackers, little things you light big boom noise
Blackcats, lots of loud. a lot more. sounds like gun shots.
Roman Candles, sticks that shoot like 8 or so shots out of them. You hold em and aim @ people if you want to :D
Bottle Rockets, you usually stick them in the ground, light, and they shoot up or wherever you aimed.
Mortars/Artillery. Big booming colorful things in sky.

anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong about any of this

Thanks for the info. But i haven't used a firecracker since i went to El Salvador. Because there aren't allowed in massachusetts. But i like roman candles.

I completely agree, I don't know what they're called either but I love them all. So much fun to watch.

Hmm. I like the fountain ones that sit on the floor and just like... look like a fountain?

I like the ones that kind of fly off in spirals and make the whizzing noises, then just have a little explosion at the end. I don't know what they're called.

I really like the big ones...Stephen, you said they're called mortars? I don't really like the screamers though.

Every year my neighbors across the hill have this huuuuuuuuuuuuge party (we can hear it from my house, a good mile or two away) and set off the giant stuff...They work at a nearby hospital & have the money for it & everything, haha (it's only legal in West Virginia if you have a liscense, and yes, West Virginia is its' own state wink.gif )...anyway, it's great, because despite living miles from town, i can see the downtown stuff and theirs...from my front porch.

Sadly we couldn't see it tonight though...it rained like around 6, and everything thing is way foggy. Plus, this is the first year that i can remember that they didn't have their big party sad.gif

Whoa...enough rambling...sorry about that....haha.

Hahaha, I love sparklers! laugh.gif They make me feel like a little kid again. I love morning glories. rolleyes.gif We used to buy a whole pack of fireworks and set them off in our yard (even if fireworks are illegal where I live whistling.gif) But now..we don't sad.gif

I don't really know fireworks, but this is the first year we had illegal ones. :D The Roman candles kinda sucked for us..I like the army ones better. But we had the fireworks like you see on tv. biggrin.gif
