so, when you go out of country.. does it cost money to text people? is it possible to text people?

i'm asking this because i know that it costs a lot of money to call people, so i figured texting would be the same way.

have you ever gone out of country and texted/called people, and had a really high bill?

You need to check with what plan you have. They'll probably charge you for texting if you're outside your country. It is possible to call / text depending on what kind of phone you have.

okay, the reason i'm asking is because my boyfriend left for St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands which is U.S. territory. he has verizon wireless, so i wasn't sure if he would be able to text/call me. i told him i didn't think it would work, but when he told me about it being U.S. territory, i wasn't sure...

I think you'd need an international texting plan to cut down on the texting cost. One of my friends texted someone in Malaysia (we're in the US) and it was pretty expensive.
