I guess it can work for some people if they're really committed to that sort of relationship. I mean, some people have even married people they've met on the internet. I guess for it to work, there also needs to be a lot of trust.

roxanne is right .. a lot of trust has to be involved in an on line relationship .. some have worked so far .. and some have gotten together and even married later on ..

but i dunno .. i'm really iffy about the internet relationships because some people don't know what they're getting themselves into .. the person may turn out to be nothing as they make themselves appear through the internet and it's very dangerous ..

be careful if you get into an internet relationship and make sure you know who you're talking to before you decide to meet up with them ..

i personally wouldn't want an internet relationship because of the risks involved .. =/

how do you have a relationship online? when you don't know what that person is doing in real life... example at shcool or whatever...

like meeting a guy first from the internet and then having a person to person relationship from there on is okay, cause you actually get to see that person now...

i guess its ok... like i say if you make it work its gonna work!! biggrin.gif but then again.. do you really feel the chemistry between the two people? sure you can talk when you're online... but how about over the phone? or even in person? the chemistry has to be there!!

I think i like havin internet relationships it's just that i would neva consider meeting the person in person becus it's to risky.I believe that internet realtionships are not really serious becus u can have many relationships just for fun or for socializing.

i met someone on vacation 2 years ago and we spent the week together hanging out and getting to know each other and stuff, so we kept things going online for a while... but then school started back and he was going to a co-ed public school for the first time and i didn't want to him to be tied down to someone far away and i myself didn't want to be taken by someone online... so we kinda went our separate ways, but he's still my friend, so in our situation it *kinda* worked... but a word of warning: sometimes people are really different and uninhibited online... but in real life, they're just not the person you got to know online. so yeah, best of luck to everyone considering an online friendship/romantic endeavor.

i dont believe in online relationships, if i had one ill jus play around cuz i believe that u know how the person is wen u see them or hear them, i can say "i dont know" in a normal way where i really dont know teh answer .. or "i dont knowwwwwwww" and change the tone of it and it'll mean something different, of course u can only see that in person, but online if i said i dont kno the other person wouldnt kno what kinda attitude i said it in

Personally, I'm not all that into an online relationship, because you just never know. But I guess one good part about it is that it's not based on looks or social status. More on what the person has to say and how they think. So there's no harsh judgement there. But then again, even if what they say or how they may appear to think and such, may not be real.

yea. to me, internet relationships seems shady. because you never know who exactly the person is, how old they are, what they look like, etc. but, im all for internet friends. talking about your interests with a person far away can be will therapeutic.

I personally think internet relationships can work as long as you both trust each other and put in some effort. But also make sure you talk on the phone and view webcam with him so that you're certain he's not a horny 54 year old grandfather.

Eh.

Online relationships can work assuming you eventually met the person face to face on a fairly-regular basies.

Pssh, I come off as a immature jerk-off online; but in real life i'm shy and meek...and a tad cynical.

Go figure.

online relationships seem like a tricky one there.. you never know who's on the other end of the chatline. it can be the gorgeous guy he talks about, or, i quote, "a horny 54 year old grandfather". laugh.gif on the other hand, an online penpal where you remain anonymous would be a good idea, like a friend that gives you advice and stuff without judging you - or having any reason to judge you, since she/he hasn't really seen u in person. happy.gif i've been lookin for one.. _unsure.gif

Bad, bad idea. Most people lie about everything.

Plus, I have friends that go in there and get fake ass pics and shit just to fool people and have a few laughs. I mean, I have a friend that's a girl that got this pic of this guy, who was so obviously a model, and she's been fooling this online chick for a year now that her name is Fabian and she's a male.

I mean, I think it's pretty funny. But still, I wouldn't fall for shit like that.

sometimes they work. but sometimes they don't. i think it's a bad idea to meet the person in real life because even though they seem like the most NICEST person in the whole world they could totally turn around and do something to you. i don't think giving any information besides ur first name is a good idea either.....
