Okay, well, I started out just being friends with this guy. We met on the Naruto boards over at IMDb.com and eventually I started liking him. Then on YouTube, I found out he has a girlfriend. I know I never could've even MET him in the first place, but I feel a little dissapointed... Help? Please? How do I get past this?

Ahh, one of my friends fell in love with some girl over the internet. But then she got a b/f. She was a skank anyways, she invited him over (she lives in the same state) cause her parents were gone and her b/f was out of town.... heh.
But yeah, idk how he got over it. I guess he just found someone else. |

it is normal to feel disappointed. i think any girl would be disappointed if she started to like a guy and found out that he had a girlfriend.
the only thing to do, is move on. or you can tell him how you feel. let him know that you started to like him and when you found out that he had a girlfriend, it upset you. did he know that you liked him in the first place? did he tell you that he liked you too? |

The Internet is definitely not a reliable OR trustworthy source of love. Chances are, if you were to have met him in real life you wouldn't have fallen for him. Mystery/ the unknown tends to attract. He may not even be who he says it is. If you fell for him that easily, then you'd probably get over him just as easy.

I am a little on the fence with this one, I have married someone I met on the internet in an aol chat room almost 10 years ago.
We talked on the internet for almost a year before we even met face to face, never even talk on the phone before we met face to face, and when we finally did meet we drove to NY (4 hour drive) to visit some other online friends (and the rest is history) It is easy to think you really like someone on the internet because they make you feel good. If he has a girlfriend I would get on with something else. and I am almost 100% sure your feelings will pass quickly. |

Haha, no, but really, even if it did work out with him, there's always going to be the fact that you two are how many miles away and nothing you can do about it. And it just costs that much more money to see eachother. It's better to just face the facts and be with someone in your own area... even if it takes awhile to find someone. Plus, there is plenty of time to find someone. Chances are you won't even talk to the people you date now after you move on in life after college. |
