For some reason, at night my wireless router refuses to work for a majority of the night but during the day I have no problems... does anyone know why?

A. Should be moved to technology.
B. What kind of router? Is it a linksys wireless router? The blue'ish/black'ish one with 2 big plastic thingies coming out of the back? Or if you know what you have, is it a WRT54G haha? Anyways, try updating firmware or completely resetting the router back to factory defaults then upgrading firmware and re-doing your network. |

Maybe it's your internet connection/service.

your parents put a timer on the internet connection for your computer.
go complain. if that fails, connect to your neighbors wireless. |

Sounds like a weird problem. Get a new router. Unplug it, plug it back in. Do the obvious.
Maybe your IP signal's get shitty at night. Doesn't make sense, to me. |

I think you guys have a switch that turns off your router in the night, either that or your wireless company has problems...like mine.

you could always try to log into the wireless router and see if there are any restrictions imposed upon it. To get into it you go to the web address bar in your browser and type in 192.168.1.1 (I think) and it takes you to the router controls. It prompts you for the user id / login information before you can go about logging in. If your parents put one of their own in, you're out of luck, but if they didn't change it the default is like
ID: administrator pw: admin or something like that, maybe vice versa. You could find out the default by checking the linksys or w/e company makes your router's website. |
