My mom decieded to give me the "sex talk" today becuase last night she overheard me telling my frined (who sepent the night)that my ex wanted to have sex with me. It was HORRABLE. She kept saying all they want is your body, dont wear lowcut shirts it sometimes gives them the wrong idea, and that your rep. gets trashed. It was sooo awkward. I kept laughing. At one part my my mom started to cry, I felt so bad because she was trying to protect me.
Anyone else have some awkward experiences when their mom/dad gave them the "sex talk?" |

my mom gives little sex facts like "YOU'LL GET AIDS AND DIE" or "USE PROTECTION" from time to time. I've never had the formal sit down talk though.

lol my parents didn't give me any kind of sex talk. they just told me that when i grow up i need to find a man that will take care of me and my family :)

me and my parents joke about that stuff. my mom anyway, my dad doesn't care too much for it. But I know they don't want me to have sex.

Well it's not what my mom said it's what my grandma used to say. She wouldn't use the biological terms for things. Penises and Vaginas were "down there" and yeah it was really funny. "If you don't have a ring on your finger, you'll die if a guy sees you in your undies."

My mom talks about it sometimes with my mom. And I'm like "I know.. absinece is key and I should wait for marriage" and they're like "not necessarily." and If we're talking about a movie where a young girl gets pregnant my dads all like "DON'T FOR GET LUCY, IF YOU HAVE SEX... USE PROTECTION." and I'm like "Uhhh..."
It's so awkward. It's like they want me to.

I think I was way too young when my mom gave me the sex talk. I think I was 8 or something. It was awkward.

My mom says,"when you start having boyfriends all it leads to is one thing-and that's SEX! Sex sex sex. Nothing else. So be careful, Hadassah. Girls get crazy for it and that's all they want. And then the girls get pregnant. I'm telling you this not to scare you, but so that you know."
It's extremely hard to contain my laughter.  My mom gave me the talk when I was like, in 4th grade. Maybe third. Then she brings it up every once in a while. |

i never experienced the sex talk [believe it or not] and im 16... its funny, but really they just know i already know what sex is... my mom [not my dad] says "just dont do that and your okay -- i dont want to hear that your pregnant" either than that they trust me...

My parents haven't head a sex talk with me really..
I remember though when they first told me to stay away from dangerous men and to not let anyone touch me or whatever. I was seven lol. They were like, "Now Sarah, if any guy tries to mess with you in any way that makes you uncomfortable, you smack them."

lol... uh, my mom has never officially gaven me the 'talk' tho she has said: 'if you ever get pregnant, make sure you come to me. yea i wont be too happy with you but i will make sure you get help' yeah.... shes never said, DONT HAVE SEX EVA! its almost like she doesnt care..but i know she does, since i feel she would be dissapointed in me if she did find out i was having sex with my boyfriend (not that i am..)
but personally, idc what she says... its my life. but this time, i do agree with her. i dont plan on doing the dirty til i'm married. i dont want to risk getting pregnant til i know for sure i will be able to support my baby. so therefore, i am keeping my virginity til i'm at least out of college..and most likely til my wedding night |

My parents never gave me "The Talk", because they already know we've learned all that at school. My mom did warn me and tell me to use birth control. She doesn't have a reason to worry right now, though. |

Yes. Ugh. It was very awkward. First off - my parents are pretty conservative, so for my mom to have this talk with me - lets just say I was in deep shock. Anyways.
Soo, she comes in and firstly asks "If a boy pressured you to try and have sex, you'd say no right?" So I figured she'd try and talk to me about how bad sex is... Then she goes on about how when I'm ready to talk to her to get birth control and blah blah and to be careful... This was me:  Yeah. It was weird though. And she told me to feel comfortable asking and that it's okay and yadda yadda...yeah, I'm definitely not going to her about it. It's just weird. I'll handle it myself.

my mom had the talk with me when i was like....ten i think.of course, by then i already knew everything because my older cousin explained it.
my mom told me that she knew i was going to have sex, but whenever i did to come straight to her so she could take me to the health dept. b/c she "doesn't want to raise any babies" and to make sure my dad doesn't find out. hah.

My mom asked me once if I took sex ed? (I guess she didn't recall signing the form) After that she asked if I knew what a condom was. After I said yes that was the end of our talk. Short and to the point.

My mom sat me down handed me her nursing books and made me read the chapters about STDs and child birth... it was so much awkward as just disturbing. And now she only says "don't be stupid" and constantly tells me to break up with my boyfriend. Thats the only sex talks i get.

Hmm .. my mom never really gave me the "sex talk". Whenever something random like that appeared on TV, my mom would say, "See, that's what happens when you have sex at a young age like me; you get pregnant, go through 9 months of pain, and then wound of going on welfare."
Anyway, I told my mom about how my Health class was going to get into the discussion on sex and condoms, STD's, etc. After that she didn't talk about it anymore. Talk about "weird"!

when my mom found some porn stuff my guy friends gave me she went crazy.
i was with my friend and i was going to sleep over and she called up and was like i'll meet you at McDonalds to pick you up and when i got into the car she started yelling at me and crying. and saying you shouldnt be doing anything! blah blah blah... she thought i was doing it and her daugther isnt "innocent" anymore. then my dad gave me && my sister a talk when he found her and her boyfriend watching a movie in a room... alone. wow. i had to suffer the lecture with her  i didnt even do nothing!  and it was hard to understand cuz his fob accent.

ummmm...no not a real sit down talk..only when my like 3 of my cousin got pregant my mom was like use protection and i really hope you aren't out there doing that stuff too but no because i already learned about that in school and from my friends!That would be WEIRD!!!
