i had 6 piercings in my ears, but now i have 5 since i was sick of one of my holes being mean to me. so now in my right ear i just have two holes in my earlobes. i was thinking about getting a specialty piercing instead of going to the mall [cuz my ears are STILL not healed after 4 months] i want this piercing THE FLOWER ONE ONLY. i know its gonna hurt but i have to think that i have to take this earring out twice a year [initiation] and i'm going to be a teacher. worth the money for college. yay or nay?

JUST THE FLOWER PIERCING!

thanks.

It looks like something you're going to regret in the long run.

You aren't going to get hired for a respectable teaching job with that shit.

If you have the money it's not a big deal. I have teachers who have tattoos, and a few of my female teachers have their noses peirced. It's in your ear and you can always put a smaller earing in it, or wear your hair down (provided your hair is long enough to cover your ears.) You really shouldn't get your ears peirced with a gun, I'm assuming that's what they used when you went to the mall and that's probably why they are taking so long to heal.

Well if you earring isn't an obnoxious flower, I don't really see it hindering your career chances. My mom's friend is a nurse and she just got her daith pierced.

Like others said before, it's not too big a deal if you have the money.

Also, on job interviews, you shouldn't wear it, but you know that. thumbsup.gif My teacher has a nose piercing, and like three piercings in each ear. She just doesn't wear them at school. Said something about..being 'appropriate'.

You can do it, if you know the "consequences" and everything else.

Well, if you do get the piercing, you could always wear a retainer when you start teaching. Then maybe that way it wont be noticeable.

I really and truly don't think you should get it, especially since you're going to be a teacher. And especially the way people get stereotyped these days.

I say do it if you want. You'll be able to enjoy for those last few years of college. Remember, college is only four years, but work never ends.

^ exactly.
Make sure that you buy a retainer when you get it done.

And, if you end up not liking it, you can always take it out. =]

That's not necessarily true -- there's a Spanish teacher at my school who has eighteen piercings in each of her ears. Also, the teachers in my district are among the highest paid in the Pittsburgh area. Personally, though, I don't think that looks very attractive. Just painful, really.

As long as you have the money and you know what the person is doing, I say it should be fine. Take it out when you've got a job interview or maybe when you start teaching, and enjoy it now. _smile.gif

I don't really think that it's that big of a deal. If you have a tiny gold stud in there when you're teaching, it probably won't even be that noticeable.

But reading that your ears haven't healed after 4 months?!
I would not suggest you get any specialty piercings if your ears cannot heal. Especially a conch. The conch area has the most nerves, and if it ends up getting infected...

If you feel it will jeopardize your job, then don't spend your money on it just so it has to be removed later.

^true.
that could do alot of damage, especially in that area. it's really tender, so i'd check into it heavily before going through with it. get some h2ocean. thumbsup.gif
