For some reason, I can't enable any other settings in the smudging place other than Shape Dynamics and Other Dynamics. Everything else is greyed out. :l

Are you using a photoshop preset? Or just a normal ol' circle brush?

Preset as in, those other weird brushes that already have their own custom settings?

Anyways, try, uh, resetting the tool:

Try clicking 'Brush Presets' in the little box at the top of;
