I work with a couple of gay guys. I'm always telling them my opinion on gay but they don't really seem to care, so I don't.
I think gay & lesbian people are the same as straight people (personality-wise), but they just like who they want to like. They don't bother me at all. Gay guys actually amuse me a bit. ![]() |

Gay, and lesbian people to me are just like anyone else, becides the fact they are attracted to the same kind of gender as them. Lol I agree that gay guys sometimes are a bit amusing..Bi people to me are exactly like anyone they just feel an attraction to both genders (and to me cant make up their mind), but they act like anyone whos straight usually.

If they are guys, I do not have a problem and I could just approach them as friends.
However, for girls, I would still be friends with her but I have to make sure things don't get out of the line. In fact, I have never met any gay/lesbian/bi friends in real life...at least not that I know of. |

I am fine with all of them going out with each other (but respectively, with the genders they're attracted to... You get what I mean.). It doesn't bother me. I know a few bisexual people in my grade.

I don't understand why anyone has a problem with it...
Saying you hate gay people is like saying you hate people who like pinneapples on their pizza just cuz you like your pizza with sausage. People have different preferences. Get over it. We don't say we hate straight people because they like the opposite sex. We don't try to change straight people. Why should a straight person try to change us? We aren't affecting them in any way. people are stupid. |

Keeping in mind a lot of people are anti-gay due to their upbringings/cultural means. I'm not saying that it's right to hate gays etc, but a lot of people don't make the decision themselves and it's difficult for a lot of people to change the way they see things. I used to be anti-gay marriage but I listened to counter-arguments and I see nothing wrong with it now.
Also, as Michelle has put it: A lot of people were anti-interracial marriage in past times, but people have become more accustomed to it and it has become much more widely accepted. I have no doubt that in time gay marriage will become much more widely accepted. |

Look: you love who you love. If people are going to laugh at you because you don't let a stupid thing like gender get in the way of being with who you care about most, then they can go fall in a hole, because they don't matter.

i understand that some people were brought up to believe its wrong,
but seriously, why would it be wrong there isnt anything wrong with it they are just like us but they go for people of the same sex and i see no problem with that. why would it be a problem?? if you love somebody you shouldnt be judged over it if your a guy and you love a guy who has the right to tell you your wrong? at first interracial couples were "wrong" but now they are accept pretty soon gay, lesbian and bi couples will be even more accepted i have plenty of friends who are gay. they are some of the best friends ever i am always around gay people. so nothing is wrong with being gay. at all. |

I love the LGBT community. But i feel like the bisexuality group in the community gets more shunned upon because we don't "pick sides" like the others.
My opinions: Gay = The gays around my place are mostly the feminine kind. I prefer the more macho butch gays, but nonetheless all of them are awesome. I always go to my gay friends about what type of clothing, haircut, style, etc I should look to because the ones I know definitely have high experience with fashion and keeping cleanse compared to other girls and guys I know. They're fun to talk to and I never had a problem with any of them. I like this one gay guy right now and the only thing that's keeping apart is the age restriction. Lesbian = I think the whole stereotypes about lesbians always being butch or manly is overused. I mean, I personally know one of my friends is a lesbian butch type but I know there's a girly type of Lesbians out there. To me, lesbians are hot. Two girls kissing could never make a guy so damn happy. Maybe to straight girls that might be gross, but thinking about being in a 3-way with them is worth it. I love my lesbians because i know if a straight guy ever tries to diss on me then they'll always be there to beat the shit out of the guy. Bisexual = umm my opinion for bisexuals might sound biased because i am one, but here it goes. I think bisexuals are probably the ones less looked upon in the whole community. Many of my friends before thought bisexuals were freaks and they just wanted to get into someone's pants all the time. For example, Tila Tequila. I kind of looked up to her when she's trying to choose the right person for her, but at the same time I hate how she's like a visual example of the bad stereotypes and labels that are placed upon bisexuals. My friends changed views when they heard that I am Bi. Everyone that knows me knows I never had sex with anyone, and that I'm going to wait till marriage. I do get temptations when I see a hot guy's body or when I see a fine girl's boobs but I try to resist. Transgendered = I don't have a problem with transgenders, but I do feel uncomfortable when I'm around one. I don't know why, but it's probably because I'm not used to being around one or getting to know one. I think transgenders probably suffer the worst outside of the whole community and the difficulties they have to go through. Getting the sex change surgery and adding on extra stuff isn't that cheap. What's worse is I hate it when people crack jokes about transgenders especially during the time about Lady Gaga being transgendered or a hermaphrodite, and it still goes on. Why won't people just get that it was just a joke to add on publicity and to see how stupid we people would react to. /end of opinion |

^ i think the stereotype of lesbians being manly is less used than the stereotype that lesbians are just chicks who want attention so they go around kissing girls and what not.
i think that some gay people should stop perpetuating the stereotype that their gayness makes them better at fashion, shopping, whatever else gay guys are supposedly better at. if gay people want everyone else to see their sexuality as just that, their sexuality and nothing else, then they have to stop linking their sexuality to every thing else they do. they should be interested in fashion because they like it, not because they're gay. those two things have nothing to do with each other in reality, at least if they think they are born gay. that's like saying someone is good at fashion becasue they have brown hair.no one thinks i'm good at something strictly because of my sexuality. whenever they make distinctions like that it makes it more likely that everyone else is going to see their sexuality as a big deal. the same way with gay people who point out their sexuality all the time. if you draw attention to it then you can't be surprised when someone else does. |

Homosexuals are just regular people with a fetish for sexual contact with people of the same gender. Bisexuals are just part time fetishists.

(not that gay people are the only ones who blur this line, we always try to relate biological traits to interests, personalities, abilities, etc.) |

This is the definition of a transgendered person, but what you're talking about with sex reassignment is with regard to transsexuals. As far as I know, I'm heterosexual, but I know it's possible I could fall in love with a girl; and I don't adhere to a lot of gender roles prevalent in American society. Would I call myself transgender? Going by the first two definitions on Wiki, I suppose I could: QUOTE The precise definition for transgender remains in flux, but includes:

i like having gay, lesbian, or bi friends more than straight friends. they seem more friendlier and less prejudice than them. i feel more comfortable around them since more of my straight friends like to judge. i'm not saying that gay, lesbian, or bi don't judge, but straight people do judge more than the gays. i hate that, idunno, but thats my opinion.

I do not have a problem with gay/lesbians/bi's.
Who cares if they love the same sex? They're human. Just like you and me. I honestly don't believe Men and Woman should love each other by instinct or whatever.. Women can love other women, and Men can love other men. It's all the same. Except you can reproduce. But that's what adoption is for. Most of my friends are gay or bi. I'm straight as a pole; but that doesn't mean I'm uncomfortable around them; or I'm going to shun them. Plus, I find bi/gay/lesbian people are way more friendly and fun than other people. |

Not everyone. What about Hitler or Stalin or Chad Kroeger? Sure they've done horrible things, one systematically destroying an entire race, one leading a regime to kill 60 million people, and one being Canadian, but you've got to respect them for being so charismatic. How could someone so horrible as Hitler end up in a position of power, even after writing the abomination that is Mien Kampf, without being such an extraordinarily great leader? How could someone who tried to stifle every imaginable freedom have stayed in power so long? It would have taken none less than a single bullet to completely rid the Earth of him, but nobody did it. How could a Canadian have so many fans? The world may never know. |

i especially don't understand the girls who love gay men purely because they're gay. I'm not female, but I'm going to answer as though I have a deep understanding of women. I think there are several facets to this interest in gay men by straight girls:

I think a lot of people just want a gay friend just because of your 3rd reason. Kinda like someone who wants to prove they aren't raciest by getting/constantly talking about their black friend.

I'm not female, but I'm going to answer as though I have a deep understanding of women. I think there are several facets to this interest in gay men by straight girls:
yes, but i'm talking more or less about how some women obsess over men who are gay. such as, them gushing over, "omg, we're totally going to be bffls because he's gay." the blatant stereotyping of some towards gay men is borderline disgusting. it's not to say that in many cases, the stereotypes aren't true, because they are. but, it's the oversimplifying and shallow treatment people take towards the entire lgbtq community that really just pisses me off. |

My boss is homosexual. Honestly, I didn't know for the longest time. I didn't see him as openly gay compared to, say, my ex-coworkers at Express. Yea I just found out THIS school year, even though so far I've been working with him for 3 years now. It bothers me how people stereotype gay men as flamboyant because every time a man acts a certain way.
Apparently my boss acted "flamboyant" to one of my newer coworkers at the library, and she told me "omg Christina, did you know he was gay? I can totally tell. Just how he acts and he's so..." *she does that flapping hand motion* Honestly, didn't think he acted that way at all and shocked at how she made a big deal out of it. But then again, she's Korean and most, if not all, Koreans are Christian/religious somewhat. Thus, I can see why she was so shocked. |

Love is universal and no one person should be denied their right to love whomever. It also shouldn't be that big of an issue.
That being said I think everyone has a preference. |

this piece from teen vogue encapsulates the view many straight women take towards gay men - that they're simply accessories to take around. |

QUOTE Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails...But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7,13 That's exactly what love is, no matter what Christians have against gay people. It should know no boundaries. Also, I hate the stereotypes. Yeah, I'm gay, but it's not the only thing that makes me. I hate musicals, I hate fashion, I hate shopping, I hate gossiping, I hate swaying when I walk. |

God hates gay people because they defy the Bible and are God-hating sinners. That's what Christians have against gay people. God you're so closed-minded, you hate so much. Are you stupid? Gay people love fashion, shopping, catching, gossiping, it's what defines gay... you're just a poser |

It's great to see so many accepting people on this board!
Luvs it! & if you want to get technical...we're all sinners. In some way. Big or small, you can't weight the value of how wrong, or how right... It's either wrong or right. So all you masturbaters, all you shellfish eaters, if you are of Christian faith... you might as well be screwed with the Gays (if that's how you really feel)! |
