I was just curious...do any of you watch those forensic-based shows? The ones where they introduce some murder cases and, with the help of science, find the murderer? On regular TV they don't show a lot of the bodies and whatnot, but I know the one show on HBO, Autopsy, it...heh...shows everything. *Cringes* Haha so yeah, I was just wondering who else loves learning about that stuff...or watching, rather. Or...am I possibly just another lonesome, sadistic, morbid soul?

No m'dear, you are not alone. I'm addicted to tons of those forensic shows. Especially the New Dectectives on the Discovery Channel ... or TLC, I can't remember which. Good times. My sister and I always compete to see if one of use can solve the case before the people on the show do.

Yeah, thanks for clearing that up for me, Jess. I didn't mean "CSI". I meant stuff on Court TV, TLC, or the Discovery Channel. The ones on the Discovery Channel are called, "FBI Files," and "The New Detectives," I believe.

i love csi. thats the only "forensics show" i watch. tho i wouldnt really call it forensic b/c forensic means mor eliek psychological. liek u dont really see teh process of them getting into th emind of the criminal. its just like..well.. the title.. crime scene investigation. i enjoy it nonetheless. and i dunt think id ever wanna see "autopsy" *gulp*

I remember watching that when my satellite was offering a free preview of HBO. I was 11, and they had a story about a doctor who fell in love with one of his patients, but she died. I think he kept the body and made her look like a doll. _unsure.gif Err... there were more interesting tid bits, but I don't feel like going on and I don't think you all want me to.

I like the New Detectives, some shows on Court TV - especially Dominic Dunne's (sp?), and those fictional crime dramas that go more into who are commiting the murders (CSI, Law & Order, Jonathan Creek [not really focusing on forensics], etc.).

ugg. i don't like shows like CSI. they glorify it. i like shows where they just pick a city, then pick a few coroners, and follow them on thier job.

i learned that:

you cut open the pockets of dead transients. ( homeless people) cus you don't want needles to jab you.

that you use arm and hammer detergent, a soup pot, and a stove to get human flesh off human bones.

that you don't want to drink any soup you get from the coroner's office.

that when a body's been floating naked in the riverr for about amonth, you can't get fingerprints cus the skin is peeling off like an onion. so you cut off the hand and give it to a guy, who soakes the fingers till he gets the skin off with fingerprints. then he puts them on like a glove and does the fingerprints. gives a new meaning to 'give me a hand'

that coroners are some of the coolest people around.
