How big is the birthmark?

A lot of people have birthmarks they don't like, but since they're so common I'm sure it's not as bad as you think it is.

Chop it off!

Erm, no... don't. If it's something that really concerns you I'd suggest to go see a dermatologist about it. There's many different types of birthmarks and they may even be able to remove it for you. Lots of people have birthmarks, so it's probably not even that big of a deal. Embrace your differences victory.gif

I believe that they can be lasered off, though.

Maybe find a cute pair of board shorts that'll match your bathing suit?

I have twin scars on my back.
If you really want to get it removed... you could probably get it laser-ed off. Here's a link to a news story about a a girl getting her birthmark treated or something.

Why not try and embrace it as your own? It's an identifying mark.

What type of birthmark is it? Is it a pigment? Well, if you were born with it, I don't think you should hide it. Embrace it! Shake what cho momma gave ya. If anything, try to get it removed laser status. mellow.gif

I have scars on my legs from shaving when i was a kid and i hate my legs but you know what i got over it and wear shorts and my bathing suit because in the middle of summer i dont want to look like a loser and be sweating hot! I dont have any birthmarks, but one of my friends has like this HUGE and i mean HUGE birthmark all on her stomach because of her genetics (its pail white) and she just goes around like its no big deal.

i have a birthmark on my belly. where it is, it sits right above my pant line and below my shirt line.
so if i raise my arms, you see it.
if i wear a mid-drift shirt, you see it.
it's also in quite a non-nice place for the growing belly during pregnancy.

it's not huge, but it's most certainly not small. the most noticeable thing about it is that it is about 20 shades darker than my skin tone. i used to joke and say that all my native skin colour went to THAT one spot, rather than my entire body. that's why there's a huge colour different.

i'd post a pic, but i don't think everybody wants to see my preggo belly and birthmark, but if you want to see it, PM me and I can send you a link.

i used to be embarrassed by it... but... now i just don't care anymore.
having esteem while sporting a birthmark isn't that bad.

at least you're not like... 300 pounds wearing a tubetop (made for a really skinny chick) that says "babygirl" or "cutie" or "princess" on it.

Trust me, there are people with uglier features who are confident to wear a twopiece or short shorts.

SO TRUE.

is ur birthmark like purple? i have 3, 2 small that you cant really see and one big one on my arm. its just a lil bit darker than my skin. so if urs is jus a lil darker than ur skin i wouldnt worry bout it but if its like a purple color you could prob go 2 the doctor and ask how to get rid of it. but dont b worried. people will only make fun of you if you dont show any confidence. confidence is key. so jus show it and they'll believe it.

Agreed, and I'm pretty sure the only way to get rid of it is by laser..

I wouldn't worry so much about it, people aren't going to say much, I mean my god its not like you can do anything about it.

I used to have a huge birthmark on MY FACE. It got SO ANNOYING because random kids would say, "You have something right here" *points to face* or "I think you have some chocolate left on your face" stubborn.gif
Since the doctors were kinda worried about it(because it showed signs of cancer), I got surgery (nothing big of course), but it turned out it wasn't cancerous.
