That can't be true because Evo X isn't even out in Japan yet.

The new EVO X is not out yet. Buuuut, the new Lancer X is out.

Also, I like how the new Subarus look, mainly because it doesn't look like some Asian kid blasting techno music is going to drive it.

It's meant to appeal to the older crowd.

The car you saw was the 08 Lancer, which has been recently introduced to the public. The PRODUCTION EvoX has been revealed but not released yet, it's a step forward from the concept X. This finalized version should arrive a few months from now.

A little insight on why they switched to this radical design-
They decided to switched to a hatchback design for the STI because, as you know, Subaru is heavily competitive in the WRC. After decades, Subaru and Mitsubishi are one of the only sedan competitors, as most have discovered that hatchback designs provide better performance on the rally courses; it's to do with weight distribution, handling, and the more ease a hatchback has getting sideways, and such, and this carries over to the rest of the Impreza/STI design.

I still don't get they would take priority of a win in the WRC OVER their loyal customers and profit though. The profits of millions buying an STI would far outweigh the profit in winning the WRC championship.

Agreed. the 08's will also have a sedan edition but the looks of it is just horrible. Its a shame because like you said a lot of people purchase a subaru because of word of mouth and because their customers who have old subies tend to buy new ones. However with this new design it sets the STi back, even though it'll be more competitive. I was really looking forward to the new 08's untill they came out with this thing. I was hoping for a new radical sleek race car design but this aint what I pictured. SIGH.

heh..but that sedan only comes out for the WRX. The STI will be strictly only in hatchback variation.

Can there be a forum for cars? I'd love to learn more because I'm the first to admit I know absolutely nothing about them. Yes, I'm pretty assed out if a car breaks down on me and can't tell one from the other.

There could be always a Pinned thread in Boy's Locker about cars..
Other than that not to many people would be into cars to keep a Cars Forum Up.
Or a Intrest Section for cars would be a good idea also.
Post it in feedback if you really want it =P
