okay so i want to download music but i dont want to download a program to my computer is that possible?

Yes, but you'll be a little limited on what you can actually download.

Maybe try search engines, and search under the audio category? You can right click on the url for the actual song, and "save target as". Just make sure they're mp3's (you can check by right clicking on the link, and going to properties). I used to do that alot with aol's search engine, but I'm not sure if they still have an audio section.

there's a lot of places where you can download music, but what kind? i have like websites were you can download hiphop/r&b stuff.

There's also Altavista or archive.org

I think there's a pinned Music Resource Book in entertainment section where you can find more.

you really have to search for them then. a lot of the times downloadable music is a promotional thing and will only let you download music for a limited amount of time.

myspace sometimes does it,
and a lot of the music sites were you basically just go listen to music.

yahoo music lets you listen but not download for free.

such as imeem. [ http://www.imeem.com/ ]
