Has anyone read Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov?

I loved it. It was a little creepy in some places (or actually... all places), but for the most part, it was... incredibly interesting and kept me hooked. The writing was INTENSE and the description was like none other. It makes you feel odd enjoying the read, especially with such a controversial topic as pediphilia.

I actually just started reading it. Nabokov is definitely one of the most intense writers I've ever encountered. I agree, the subject matter makes it all the more thrilling and creepy. I can see why it's a classic.

I'm a big fan. It's one of the few books I've read recently that I can really say is a work of art. The imagery created by Nabokov in his writing is nothing short of amazing.

What a disturbingly sweet book. Humbert Humbert and his obsession with Lolita makes one hell of a plot. Have you seen Kubrick's take on it? The movie was decent but it made Humbert's relationship with Lolita vague. The viewer is left to wonder if anything sexual ever did happen between the two.

I'm currently reading it.
So far, so amazingly good. In a this-topic-is-kinda-creepy-but-the-way-it's-written-is-so-good kind of good happy.gif
