The last couple weekends I've gone in big groups to the movies and just hung out with my friends.
When my freshmen friend (I'm a sophomore) asked if he could go to the movies with me, I assumed it was with these groups and I said sure. Then, when he didn't want to go with the group, but on a date, I didn't know what to do. I couldn't do it this weekend and I didn't want to be rude, so I said maybe another time. How am I gonna let him down? I'm interested in some other guys, but not him. If the guys I did like didn't know him, I may go on an innocent date with him, but then I don't want to give the guys I am crushing on the wrong impression. Help a girl out. |

You would have to just flat out let him know.
Because if you keep this all like secretish, then its just gonna make matters worse. So just tell your freshman friend that you are into this other group of guys. And if he gets mad and doesnt understand then he wasn't really a good friend in the first place. And also let the dudes know you are not crushing on them. Its not that hard I did it before, I simply said, " Aye I'm not feeling you in that area, we are just cool with eachother." |

Yeah, you just have to be honest but in a nice and tactful way. Just let him know you're not interested in him as more than a friend. It's hard to do, but you'll feel relieved afterwards.

Be honest and direct. How cares about being nice. You don't like him and thats the bottom line. Let him deal with that while you go get yourself some fresh meat.
