are there a lot of rich people where you live?

A lot of people at my school went to high cost private catholic schools. I think they spend way too much money on frivolous things. Sometimes they get shocked when I tell them I never got an allowance.

They just don't understand poverty.

Not really, There are a few. But my neighborhood is pretty... average.
But I do know a few rich folks, they don't flaunt it or anything though, which is good.

Considering I live in the city of Carmel, Indiana, most definitely. Carmel is often stereotyped as a city of rich kids. I got friends that live in million dollar+ houses with neighborhoods that have gates and everything. Man.

I never gotten allowance either, but I worked for being independant then to depend on my parents for that stuff just cause they are running their own business.

Where we live, is moderate rich people. I guess.

Yeah. I live in Fairfield County, the wealthiest county in the US. Mostly everyone around here has substantial wealth, especially in my neighborhood where a lot of new rich people are moving in.

My neighborhood is average, but there must be some rich people around who choose to live in a middle-class style.

I live in a pretty new community, and people around here are pretty average. There are some people that are more or less wealthy than the others, but it's pretty close together.

Umm no, not around my neighborhood. We're middle class.

I've heard that San Francisco is one of the cities where buying a house is very expensive, but I don't see how when there are cities like Beverly Hills...and that city isn't even on the list.

I live in a seriously humungous town that you can easily seperate into sections by income. I live in the moderately poor section, what's considered ghetto for my city, not necessarily in the bay area. My family's not poor, we go a little past just getting by, but there are so many people around here that don't even go that far.

Heh. That wasn't really going into the question. So no, there aren't very many richies around where I live. Go a little farther off, and damn yes!. But in my neigherbood, we like to make our money and ship it off the Philippines.

Oxford is the town on richness. Soo many of them. Alot of them love to show off and from my experience they seem to get upset when they don't get what they want.

Nah, I think there's more of a problem of people assuming their snobby and not seeing that uh....no they're not. I know tons that see a white person, chin up, walking forward, and see that as cockiness. That's not being stuck up, that's just standing and walking properly.

There is actually this one house across the highway from mine (the highway is basically my backyard), and its huge. It has a gate, and they have gargoyles on the gates, and there is even a statue of Yoda where a gargoyle should be. hahaha
They also have a huge gorilla holding a lamp in the middle of their yard, and they have 2 bulls. laugh.gif It's prettty weird.

My town has a mix of poor kids, up to relatively rich people. You usually can't really tell the rich from middle class though (not counting when you see their houses), until one of them drives by in their BMW or whips out their blackberry lol... because everyone hear just wears Northface fleece, uggs and Hollister jeans.

Um..when I first moved to Georgia. Where I used to live...it was like DAMN. Everyone was rich.

Then my parents split and I live with my mom now in a different area. I mean it's not the projects or anything, but I wouldn't say there were a LOT of rich people.

Whereabouts?

And yea, I live in a pretty wealthy area... And going to a private school, I know a lot of people who are pretty damn rich...

My neighborhood is pretty average, but my school isnt. I go to a private school, and only a handful of kids come from average, middle class families. I just noticed the other day that almost half the 5th and 6th grade girls have COACH purses. That's pathetic... they're freaking little kids! So many kids dont get it... not everyone is rich like they are. They run around acting like money grows on trees. mellow.gif

haha, my friend lives there... we all hate Carmel kids cuz it IS a city of rich kids... almost all of them are spoiled and preppy.

I grew up w/ a lot of rich kids... I went to private school until highschool... I always felt poor compared to everyone else.

Now I go to public school and I have friends whose families can't even afford food sometimes...
but then again, I also have a friend who gets $200 dollars a month allowance and lives in a house that's worth several million dollars... she doesn't even know how many rooms are in the place... its HUGE.

Yes. In my area the average cost of a house is 1 mil. That is expensive to me. Next door to me is a 2 mil dollar house that looks like crap.

I have a friend (guyfriend) who gets $600 in his bank account every month, yet still wants that 1 dollar that he won from a dude.

Eh, actually I'm the one sometimes "considered" rich. rolleyes.gif

But I really don't think so, but there are only a few "Rich" people around I guess.

Least in my town, I don't know of whole Maryland.

Well actually I do know of some parts of Maryland that are rich, but I can't think of the name right now. rolleyes.gif
