So right now I'm just hanging around the house with my little brother. I started feeling kind of hungry so I head over to the pantry. Then I just notice some Kraft Easy Mac just sitting there and I got a sense of nostalgia.

I remembered back in the day during the early elementary years I had this one close friend whose house I always went to. Part of the reason I kept going to his house was because his mother always made Kraft Mac & Cheese which I just thought was to die for at the time. Man, I just felt like calling that friend up to ask to go to his house but then I remembered I had to watch my little brother.

What objects give you a sense of nostalgia and what for?

Playdough, and small keychains. I still love both items, although I don't have any Playdough at the moment. Back in the kindergarten days I would fool around with Playdough and paint for hours... I used to (and still do, I suppose) collect keychains from different countries, aquariums and zoos, etc. I enjoy talking about past traveling experiences with my friends, so keychains make a good reference item. They make me want to return to wherever I purchased the keychain. happy.gif

Yearbooks would be an obvious item.

Anything that has to do with ballet always reminds me how I miss it. I took lessons from age 4 to 6, but I had to stop because my feet were really really hurting ermm.gif

Any of my old toys. There used to be a corner of our living room where i kept all my toys and everything and i would just sit there for hours and play. I still have those toys too, they're somewhere in the bottom of my closet.

Oh word.

I've also got to say those trading cards. Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Magic, you name it. Those were the days; almost everyone I knew at school had them, even people you wouldn't expect to have them. And you can't forget the first Pokemon games for the Gameboy.

Those old Nick Jr shows like Little Bear and Franklyn the Turtle! And old Saturday morning cartoons, like the original Pokemon and Digimon. And those plastic bubbles that you blew with jumping beans inside them that were toxic and killed brain cells! Yeah.

Oh my, how can I forget Pokemon. I didn't know much about Yu-Gi-Oh, but Pokemon was my area of expertise back then. Super Mario, too. _smile.gif

On another note, does anyone know of Crazy Bones? I loved those small plastic characters dearly, although some had creepy smiles... They would come in those foil-ish packages and were so fun to flick around. Crazy Bone battles were the best. laugh.gif

^SERIOUSLY. :D I still have my pokemon cards... heh all the cool kids had them at school before. Of course, that feels like ten decades ago now... wink.gif

Other objects would definitely be yearbooks, trophies and photographs. Photos especially, because they just really capture the moment... literally.

Oh man, I had only one of those, but I kept it around for the longest time.

Who remembers Furby? I remember getting one from McDonald's.

I know this is weird.. but Barbies.

Me and my friend use to play with them ALL the time when I was little. If I see one, for some reason I just want to call my friend up like I used to and say, "LET'S PLAY BARBIES!".

Oh gosh. _unsure.gif pinch.gif

Of course I remember Furby! happy.gif I think the "press my tongue to feed me and I'll burp" feature was most appealing to me back then. The McDonald's Furby had rolling eyes and everything; I remember making them cross-eyed.

Spiral Graphs
I used to spend hours with these. I thought I was such a little artist.

Lite Brite (I had the traditional version, but isn't this Star Wars one cool?!)
Spent hours with these as well. I was relaxing to me. I used to turn down all the lights.

Easy Bake Ovens
I loved cooking at an early age. My GOD. I can't believe the packets they have available now. I'm so jealous. They just had those little brownie packets/mixes when I had these. Now you can do mac n cheese? Cinnabon? Jeez. LOL
