i don't think it's silly...
he probably just wants to show that he loves you the way you are, and doesn't think you need to change to be any 'better' of a person than you already are. |

He kinda contradicts himself there. I think he really means that he wants you to change. I'm not saying that he doesn't love you but the whole never change thing doesn't seem like its what he means.
