i like the pics, but aside from that there's really not much going on.

That's pretty good for your first layout; coding wise, anyway. Some of the text is hard to read -- work on placement for next time. Not sure if I'm a fan of the ice cube looking things surrounding the pictures.
 I don't like the texture of it.

u got a pretty good scrapbook theme going on but try using Polaroid borders for those pics love the song on ur page |
