I have an idea of a better quality layout as in raising the standard.

As a requirement to submit layouts, one must create a topic for layouts to be cc and fixed.

There should be an extra box in the layout processor to insert link to verify that you had been cc and repair your error.

For an example: http://www.createblog.com/layouts/preview.php?id=17201

Let's pretend that they didn’t get cc from cb members. They should create a topic to get help on their layouts to make it look better. I don’t care if they're good enough to be accepted. I only care that they received extra help on their layout.

Other than that, this will expand createblog reputation and population. The more population we get the more chance of layouts we're getting.

Once a layout gets accepted a thread is created. Inside of that thread other people that create layouts critique those people, and in some cases they layouts are removed (like the one you linked above) by the artist and redone.

I see the idea for this my only thing is, where would all these threads be posted? We would also have to set how many replys it has to get etc. In some cases as well the layouts may be absolutely fine as they are. Which we be a waste of a thread, also it kind of sets back the accepting/rejecting process that we have to go through. Even if they improve their layout, it doesn't mean that it is going to be accepted for sure. So that would suck , to some, to go through all the work of trying to make it better and still geting it rejected.

Also it wouldn't "set" a standard because all it would be is people stating their own opinion. As I noticed people say " OMG I LOVE IT" to their friends or people they want to impress . So that wouldn't really be "helping" to set a standard. For us to actually set a standard we would pretty much need a thread like the graphics thread which expressed good graphics from bad. Thats just my opinion.

I don't know, thats just me. I feel that the threads we have now can give members the cc they need. Then like many do already they can delete it and their own will and submit it again (with the fixes they have made).

I agree with Toya completely. I think that the thread that's automatically created, when a layout is accpeted is suficient enough. Also, if someone has a rejected layout, they could always present that layout in the cooresponding showcase forum and get their cc there.

I'm not sure what you mean raising the standard though. The standard of the layouts themselves? The standard of the cc their receiving?

I could be confused (and quite frankly, wouldn't at all be suprised if I am) but to me, if a designer is looking to improve their layout, they can seek out that cc. It's taking ownership of your work.

I agree with Toya.

When a layout get accepted a thread is created, there people can state their opinions and things that they think could improve it (somewhat simular to myspace showcase) then the artist can edit their layout of remove it if they want to... so I guess I don't really understand it...
