When I think of the Lounge for some reason I think of a hotel with a bunch of little bubble people walking around. What do you think when you read "The Lounge" before you click it?

A whole bunch of topics that I won't be able to post in because I've already posted in them pinch.gif

Nah, at first I just figured it was a hang out for everyone to enjoy themselves and reply to other people and a bit chat somewhat.

I remember my first time ever posting in the community center I wouldn't step foot in to the boys locker room because I thought it was just for guys and I would get yelled at and say I needed to leave because it says a place just for guys.

Haha, me too! It's because in another forum I'm a member of, the boys' forum really is only for boys and girls are punished if they go in there.

Hmm...I think of people lounging around on couches just talking and relaxing.

The Lounge is like a little penny jar, really. Everyone drops their two cents, and leaves. Now, this isn't the case all the time, and I'm not saying that being a penny jar is bad, but it's just the way I see it.

I think of a bar. A bar that would have many fine beverages. Perhaps a jazz band and a lady singing the blues in the background. Red, velvet drapes covering the window with plush seating. Perhaps some purple tapestries hanging from the end of the bar.

...um... I think I was having a moment. ermm.gif

I disagree, I do think being a penny jar is bad, and you're being too nice because it IS like that most of the time. But yeah, the idea is 100% correct in my opinion.

As far as what I see, I'm not a very visual person so I just click and go. At some point, though, I used to be a part of another forum that used the word "Lounge" in the name and the site design had a bunch of sketches drawn by the webmaster of a "Cheers" type scene.. So I guess if anything that's what I think of.

Haha, I didn't know people were asking what we really thought of the lounge... I was just joking around when I said what I said perviously.

Well, I guess I look at the lounge the same way you do Rebbecca, except I disagree with it being a good thing. I agree with Karen... ermmm.. Dani when she says it's a bad thing. I think that a lounge is for conversation, and not quick/meaningless spurts of input.

I literally picture a lounge: a couple of sofas in a circle, a short glass table in the middle, a mini-bar off to the side, and perhaps a bookshelf. Something like this but with the extras I listed.

ME TOO!

I thought the Lounge was full of weird people, to be honest. And then I turned into one of them.. Um, now, it's just.. somewhere to hang out.

Actually, I see more and more discussion seeping into this little penny jar, and I'm happy about it.

I never said that a penny jar is good, but there's a certain inevitable-ness about the Lounge, as opposed to, say, Debate. I'm half-half on it being a penny jar, because I know that's what the members like but I really enjoy positive discussion.

...buuut that last statement didn't belong here.
