so basically
im thirteen years old i got my period when i was twelve, in mid december '06 i still haven't gotten it back. its been about three months now.kindof weird, no? i know its normal to be unregular, but i didn't thing i could go this long without my period. haha and no, im not pregnant. edit// now that i remember too, my first period only lasted for about a weekend. its supposed to last for awholeweek! |

it's not weird, it's perfectly normal. when your periods are irregular as they just start, it's common for them to skip months at a time. are you really athletic? because that could also put off your period sometimes.
i'm sure you're alright

Was the first one very heavy? I got mine when I was twelve. The first one was really light, and then six months went by, and I never got it. After about the 7th month, I got it again, and it was like a regular period, and I've gotten it every month since. That's been nearly 6 years now. Just be patient, it's going to be off for a while, because your body is going through such a change. Expect there to be a lot of wierd months when it comes to your period. After a year or two, it should regulate out.

oh, and periods aren't SUPPOSED to be a week. they can differ. mine are usually weekends long, or weekends + monday or tuesday. but no, if you first started, i think it's 2 years you have until you have to start worrying about that stuff.

It only your first period in December, so don't worry if you haven't gotten it again! It takes at least a year or two for your cycle to become regular. You're fine.

I think when i first started, i got it for a few months, and then went about 7-8 months without it. It's totally normal. |

Its pretty normal. You might want to tell your mom and/or your doctor.
Ive had mine for about two years and it was pretty regular, now its getting unregular... ugg. |

Haha Kathleen, I have to admit I was going to say the exact same thing
 Anyway your normal, don't worry. This never happened to me and I find it a bit weird that it stopped for a few months. Although it sounds like your body was giving you a heads up it only lasted for a weekend and now it hasn't come back. Just give it time though, it will come eventually and if your really worried go talk to a doctor about it and they will tell you exactly what you want to hear.
