I'm having trouble forgiving a friend even though he's already apologized. I don't think it's a pride issue. Mostly it's just because when I'm reminded of what he did, it still hurts - but that's the way it is for most cases, right? ermm.gif

Who knows.

Anyway, I could use some advice or examples on how you all forgive your friends when it feels difficult.

thankss

Don't forgive him until you can forgive him in on the inside.

What I mean by that is, You can always say you forgive someone on the outside, but if you can't completely let go of how you feel about the situation and still harbor bitterness towards the situation inside of yourself I wouldn't forgive him. Just explain to him how you feel. Maybe you need to talk about it with him or her. Talk to each other about how you feel about the situation. When you talk about things with the person that you have a problem with things tend to be released, and you may have an easier time forgiving him on the inside.

You can't keep running from what you're trying to find.

Well it depends what he did, but you can't just say "I forgive you" and put it in the past. Just give it time and hopefully it'll fade. Let him make it up to you in little ways. You have to build your friendship back up.
