Who would agree with me that three-four years ago, xanga was a popular website where you knew a lot of people (like your friends) posted blogs there and was so addicted to it? And as years went on, a lot of people quit xanga, and they all use myspace or facebook. Oh, what a big change

oiy. yeah i miss the days when xanga was popular, and people wrote interesting blogs and such. nowadays it's all myspace and facebook. hm. oh well. |

actually, i'd like to think myspace is dying as well. i never got into that fad, but i was really big on xanga. i used facebook, but i don't obsess over it.

i still do xanga. i feel its a better way to vent cause people only see your blog instead of what you look like.
myspace is more profile and its cool cause a bajillion people are in it. facebook is more strict and refined and people that dont have myspaces usually have facebook, and i find a lot of my old friends on there. but as the years go on i think they will fade away and some thing new will come on. |

yeah, my subscriptions page in xanga gets updated with about 1 entry ever 3 days now...i still check for new entries from my friends (which rarely occurs) but i don't post.
eh, myspace. but i love facebook! haha i don't know how i can waste my time on that site, but apparently i do. mhmmm unlimited photo albums... |

Ack, I loved xanga. T.T I used to spend hours making intricate layouts for it, because it was so easy and they allowed so much. I hate myspace layouts, even divs don't have the same charm that xanga layouts had. I used to love livejournal, too, but that wasn't real popular. xD Also, xanga could record all my days...I loved going back and reading about my day when I was happy or sad. *sigh*

I still have a xanga but I haven't visited it in the longest time. Don't plan on ever deleting it though. Its got some funny stories of me from 15-18 which is filled with me being so overdramatic. Fun to read.
Myspace. All I freakin do there is surveys. Occassionally comment but only when I get commented 1st. So yea...surveys: my myspace love. I don't even update my pics anymore. |

I had a xanga for a long time, but then deleted it because everyone moved over to myspace. But then a few weeks ago, I made a new xanga, but I rarely post on it.

I still use Xanga, still check it regularly. I like how it's more of a blog than Myspace is. I really, REALLY don't like Myspace all that much. It never caught on around here.
Facebook's growing on me, though. I call it "instant messaging without the pressure". Most of the time I just have conversations with people, back-and-forth, but it's better than MSN because the pressure of replying immediately is gone. Because that's a pressure to me. |

Xanga was the biggest thing around with everyone I knew 3 years ago. And I still do use it sometimes, but what is the point? No one will read it anyway.
I have facebook but I don't see all the greatness some people see it as. I don't use it anymore and not a lot of people i know have facebook. All my friends are on MySpace, so..I'm just there.

Yeah, Facebook has taken over MySpace and Xanga. It's saddening, but I still go on Xanga every day.
 Even though I'm not addicted to Xanga anymore and probably won't be again, I'll always love Xanga.

I missed the good ol' days with xanga. We use to try and one up each other at school to see who had the best xanga page. Thats why I got into web design. I always came here trying every tutorial I saw to make my xanga better than everyone elses. Thats all I did back then. Xanga and CreateBlog tutorials. Those were the days.

Xanga was quite popular back then.
I even used to have one. I think people have changed to MySpace because it's more organized. The HTML is easier to comprehend, and you can do more with a MySpace. Fackebook? I'm not so sure. I have a MySpace so I don't bother to have a facebook. |

What I don't understand is how Xanga and MySpace could be so blatantly compared, they have two very different purposes. Xanga is for blogging, MySpace is for communication. Yes, Xanga can be used for communication and MySpace can be used for blogging, but overall they can't be compared directly as which is "better". The prime similarity is that they were/are two very humungous internet phenomenons.

I've been using and using everyday, my Xanga for almost five years. I luff it.
But yeah, myspace and facebook took over. I think facebook is really giving myspace a good run for most popular. Alot of people like facebook more really. It's more about networking now than myspace ever was. I mean with myspace it's who can whore the most people and have the most friends. |

I remember Xanga was like anti drug when I was around 12. I use to go on it all the time and I was homeschooled back then which just means I had a lot more time on my hands. I use to have a code/layout/quote/ and icon site on there at that time. Then I got sick of it and slowly started going on and then My great Friend at the time Trent, showed me myspace and Gaia at the same time and told me I had to join both of them.
I think runescape came in to that too, and he also told me I had to make a facebook account too. He seems to be the start of all these sites. xD I don't go on xanga anymore though. -shrugs- It lost its magic. And I hardly ever go on myspace, only to test a layout here and there at times. Also if you took all that time and posted on it and then no one bothers to read and comment I just didn't feel like there was a point anymore except a venting period. |
