August evenings bring solemn warnings.., to remember to kiss the ones you love goodnight.

Who are the people that you love? How often do you let them know that you appreciate and love them? If you died right here, right now, would you regret never telling someone the way you felt? Why? (And why don't you change that?!)

I don't think anybody ever tells the people they love how much they care often enough. And as cliche or corny it might be, I honestly try to do it every time I see them. I greet my friends with hugs, laugh with them, tell then I love them, and upon leaving, give hugs all around again. If I were to cease to exist at this very moment, I'm sure that the people I care about would know that I love(d) them, and ain't nobody gonna tell them different.

I admit I fail at this too. I guess I just expect not to pass away so soon, even though it is one of my fears.

In my family love is one of those things you know it's there, you just don't acknowledge it. If I were to say "I love you" to anyone in my family they'd be like "What do you want?" or "why do you say that?" or give me a wierd look and things would be awkward lol.

My mom is entering into a hospice program soon, so within the last week we had those beautiful "tell each other everything before it's too late" conversations. And oh goody, did I tell her that I loved her. Afterward, I was so scared that by having that conversation, it would finalize things. Like there'd be nothing left to talk about, as if that conversation is most definitely the end.

Thankfully, it just feels like a clean slate, not so much as a start-over, but a kind of a new territory and new understanding.

So I guess I should get started on those "tell each other everything before it's too late" conversations with everyone else in my life that I love, grandma, brother, three best friends.

And Anna, where do you get all these crazy poetic topic titles, huh? tongue.gif

Amazing song lyrics and movie quotes. (Mainly in hopes that somebody will catch all my references.)

I love everyone in my life, and I try to let them know everytime I see/talk to them.
If I died right now, I would regret not telling a few people that I love them, andddd I probably will change that whenever I talk to those people. happy.gif

I really try hard to express my love for people, sometimes I fail, But I always try.

I tell people that I love that I love them everday. Mostly because the people that I love I see or hear from everyday (as it should be). I don't love a lot of people, but I do care about a lot of people. I don't say bluntly "Hey, I'm here for you, you know that, right?" everyday, but that people that I'm there for do know how to read actions. When my friend's feeling down I will take time to make sure that they know I'm there and the best way to let them know that is by actually being there.

After the friends that I've lost it means even more to me.

I tell the people I love "I love you" pretty often. I hug my friends a lot as well. Everyone I've cared about, I've pretty much told them how I felt and didn't care if they didn't say "I love you too." I understand that sometimes people have trouble expressing their feelings even if they do love me back, so it's all right.

Is it just me or does this kind of imply to relationships too?

I don't think I would regret not telling anyone how I felt, at least to my knowledge. I tell the people I love that I love them everyday or at least every time I talk to them.

I'm not a person to say those three words, and actually mean it. When I do, the person should feel very special.

In our family, and even in my extended family...we don't say "I love you" to each other. It's quite awkward...I don't know, I guess we're not that type of family. We just know it's there, I guess.

I don't say the word "love" much either. I guess I sort of let people imply it if I love them. Maybe I'll say it more often to remind them or something.

who: my family and close friends

how often: don`t really say "i love you" but hopefully my actions at least give them an idea how much i appreciate them.

if i died: hell yes i would regret it.

why not change: it`s not easy for me to verbally express my feelings

This topic makes me feel horrible. I don't tell people enough how much I value them. And I had a huge falling out with a friend, and she died a year and a half ago before I could fully make it up to her. I still regret it so much.

I think I fail to tell people I love, how much I really love them. I think the most over-looked people that many people forget to tell they love them, is their own parents. No matter how much people deny it, if they do, they really do love their parents. I mean, I love my parents, and I fail to tell them that. I'm pretty sure they know I love them, but a reminder every now and then would probably boost their level of happiness.

Regretfully, I have a hard time saying, "love." It's something I know will hit me when my mom passes (she's in her 60's).

I am very affectionate with my son though and he's the only person I feel completely comfortable and natural saying "I love you" to. I know he'll know I loved him if something happened to him. And quite frankly, he's the one the matters most.
