So randomly this morning my friend walked up to me and said "Today is going to be a good day!" and i just absorbed her energy and so far today has actually been a really good day.
Do you ever get your friend's emotions like that? good or bad?

Usually when someone is hyper, I want so sleep. So when I'm hyper, they're sleeping. mellow.gif Nope, I guess that never happens to me.

I don't think it really works on me. My friends are always really hyper and loud. I'm extremely quiet and calm all the time. mellow.gif

I don't think people have an influence on my energy level.

Hmm, a random act of kindess in the morning really brightens my day altogether. At the end of the day, I will still remember that one moment and realize that my attitude has been more positive than usual; perhaps it's all in the subconscious.

That used to happen to me and my best friend all the time.

Anyways, Hmm... it does happen to me sometimes, yes.

peer pressure? nah, i don't think catching someone's mood is really peer pressure.
More when my friends drone on me and shove drinks in my face at a party,
and tell me to "drink up", is more what I think is peer pressure.
Feeling forced to do something because your friends or peers are doing it as well.

- I understand what you mean about catching someone's attitudes. There are some people that really can give you a lift in the middle of the day. Someone is having a good day, and you yourself find that your attitude torwards things changes. Sometimes it's not even about what happens in the day, it's more how you let it affect you. Whether you let it get to you or not.
Same with bad attitudes. Someone with a bad attitude can really bring you down, just being in their presence or talking to them kinda makes you a bit cranky as well.

My mom has been reading this book called The Secret, and it's basically saying that we're all just energy in the universe and using the Law of Attraction like, if you think something bad is going to happen, then you make something bad happen. If you think and hope for good things, then the universe in turn will have good things attracted to you. I kind of agree with it, but it's basically all just depending on your outlook on everything. If someone's all 'doom and gloom' and always expects negative things, then yeah, bad things will happen because you don't strive for better things.

I didn't explain that very well, but whatever.

I saw that on Oprah. XD It really changed my way of thinking after watching it, though I watched The Secret: Reaction episode but didn't manage to catch the first.

I have to agree though. Attitude goes a long way.

Not all the time. Sometimes when I'm bored, my friends are hyper.

Sometimes we catch each others moods.

^LOL D:

Yeah, moods pretty much affect others. Last week, this person next to me wouldn't stfu and kept on saying what a bad mood she was in and how the day was going to be horrible...and it made me into a terrible mood for the rest of the day. >:[

Lol yeah, that tends to happen to my friends and I as well. laugh.gif

Moods don't really affect me, unless it doesn't have to do with school drama, which it usually is. Anyways, when my friends are happy, I'm usually happy; when they're sad, I try to cheer them up. happy.gif

Mrm, this is slightly off-topic, but...

I think that's what's kind of warped about the term "peer pressure", it's always negative. Isn't it possible to like....pressure someone to do homework? Or not eat chocolate? tongue.gif

I need to get that book! I've heard so much about it and the Law of Attraction and such. Even though I'm not much for self-help books and the like, everything I've heard about it is all really good praise.

I don't know. I don't really feed off of other people's energies. I can be having a good day and if my friend's having a bad day it doesn't really change my mood, but it's not like I'm not there for them.

I decided that's a really good idea. (It's a movie too!? I should watch it.) But yeah, time to borrow that book from the library! whistling.gif

Yeah I do, actually. My friend's emotions rub off on me sometimes. But I hate it when my friends are emo and I suddenly go emo.
