I am considering getting a free .tk domain to use until my mom (or me, though i doubt i will pay for a website anytime soon, seeing as I'm fourteen and like spending money) can afford a real domain and paid hosting. (.com, .net, ect.) But i was wondering if anyone here uses it or has used it and if it's good and trustworthy and stuff like that, or should i just stick to freewebs subdomains until I can afford a paid website?

.tk is only available for redirecting. Last time I checked, there was tons of ads and I really didn't like it. I'd rather get a domain. They're not that cheap.. expensive.

I agree with tina said. .tk are not domains really they just redirect people that go to that link to your site. Its rather annoying in my opinion. They now take you to a black page, and you have to click something like "continue on to the page" and theres like a gazillion ads on them.

If you really want some type of redirection, I guess you can use it . But I would look around for others.

You can also look for cheaper webhosting packages and reviews here.

I use net.tc for redirection. The subdomain isn't cheesy like other names I've seen, and there's no ads, just on the smartdots (runs net.tc) page. I've heard some not so good stuff about .tk, like ads you couldn't take off when the company said you could..

^ Yeah, I've been to net.tc but the whole address thingy turned me off (even though I could've put some fake stuff in). I recommended uni.cc :D

Thanks. <33 _smile.gif

I decided to stick to freewebs.com/... until i get a real domain, and if i decide to get a redirecting subdomain thingy later on, I'll use one of the ones ya'll suggested, or co.nr. They all look better then .tk
