i tried using <font color=COLOR>DISPLAY NAME</font>, but it didn't actually change my display name. It instead made my display name exactly what that code is up there. How do I fix it?

Do you mean the name above your main picture on your layout?
Use this instead then CODE {Stylizing of your name above your picture }
.nametext{font-family: arial; color: ######; font-weight: bold; font-size: 30px; letter-spacing: -3px; line-height: 35px;} |
